One day demonstration of Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler has been successfully conducted by EWRE dept with ADK experts for University students, faculty and staff. The instrument is the workhorse USV designed with SonTek M9 and RS5 ADCP measurements. The USV combines rugged performance with superior handling for discharge and bathymetry measurements. Maneuverable, portable, and able to handle faster flowing conditions with its maximum speed of 4m/s. The USV features the App running on the handheld transmitter with advanced capabilities including onboard camera streaming, autonomous moving boat measurements and Stationary measurements with no tag line.
The augmented reality (AR) topographic system combines 3-dimensional visualization applications with a hands-on system to teach earth science concepts. The AR TopoSys allows users to create topography models by shaping real sand, which is then augmented in real time by an elevation color map, topographic contour lines, and simulated water flow. The system teaches geographic, geologic, and hydrologic concepts such as how to read a topography map, the meaning of contour lines, watersheds, catchment areas, levees, etc. It's a fun, and addictive, way to learn through play for the young and the young at heart.
