I am Manish Kumar Sinha, currently serving as the Head and Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental and Water Resources Engineering at Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), Bhilai, India.

I earned my doctoral degree (Dr.-Ing.) from the RWTH Aachen University, Germany, where I was honored to receive the prestigious DAAD scholarship to pursue my PhD.

My academic and research interests span Urban Hydrology and Water Management, Hydrological Modeling, Surface and Groundwater Hydrology, and Remote Sensing & GIS applications in Water Resources and Geosciences. Since 2018, I have been teaching postgraduate and doctoral courses in these areas at the University Teaching Department (UTD), CSVTU Bhilai.

In addition to my teaching and research, I serve as a Visiting Research Fellow at CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to receive several recognitions, including the University Gold Medal in 2014 during my Master’s degree for securing the top position in the merit list. In 2017, I was awarded the Young Scientist Award by the Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology, Raipur, for my research in Earth System Science and Atmospheric Studies.

My journey in academia has also included multiple Best Paper Awards and acknowledgments for academic contributions at national and international platforms. I am also involved in government consultancy projects in Chhattisgarh, applying advanced geospatial and hydrological techniques to address real-world water management challenges.

I have authored several books, book chapters, and peer-reviewed journal articles in the field of environmental and water resources engineering. I’m passionate about integrating research, teaching, and practical applications to contribute meaningfully to sustainable water management.
