Teaching

In the past, I have taught various biology courses, ranging from Introductory Biology to Mammalogy. At UNC Greensboro, I mainly taught Conservation Biology and Scientific Reading and Writing. I prefer hands-on learning approaches and expect students to actively participate in the classroom. I am mostly proud of my students from the Scientific Reading and Writing course. My research collaborators and I invite students (including many brilliant undergraduate students) to fully participate in an on-going research project and develop research questions and hypothesis through literature search. We use a group writing approach to learn writing skills for peer-review publications and produce a publishable manuscript. We have successfully published three peer-review papers from this course.

Currently at UNO, I teach indroductory biology II and a graduate course data visualization for biologists
