Dr. Terry Maple is a legend, a visionary, and someone to be deeply admired. His contributions to the zoo and aquarium profession are countless but his leadership in creating a graduate training program in zoo science and animal welfare at Zoo Atlanta and Georgia Institute of Technology has resulted in a robust academic family filled with today's leaders in the zoo profession, many of whom completed Ph.D.s under his mentoring and are listed below. Countless others benefited from his friendship, support, and inspiration and we are forever grateful for all he has given to the science of animal wellness and to those of us who are following in his footsteps.
