Dr. Delight C. A. Thompson has a Doctorate in Psychology and a Masters in Education. She attended the University of Miami Honors Program in Miami, FL where she completed her Bachelor of Arts graduating with a double major in Psychology and Elementary Education in 1997. Dr. Thompson then went on to complete her Masters in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, MA with a double specialty in Human Development and Psychology as well as in Risk and Prevention. She received her Masters in Psychology and then her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in Neuropsychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 2003.

Dr. Thompson has been licensed to practice as a Clinical Psychologist since 2006 in North Carolina and 2008 in Florida and has been trained as a Clinical Neuropsychologist. Dr. Thompson served as Director of Clinical Psychology for over three years at the Coastal Rehabilitation Center at Craven Regional Medical Center in New Bern, NC before moving to Pinehurst, NC where she accepted a position in private practice at Carolina Behavioral Care. Dr. Thompson worked at Carolina Behavioral Care (CBC) and on staff at Moore Regional Hospital as a Clinical Neuropsychologist providing outpatient and inpatient services including assessment, psychotherapy, cognitive rehabilitation, support, education and consultation.

Dr. Thompson feels strongly about serving our veterans and active duty men and women. She worked as a contractor providing mental health services for the Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC). During that time she focused on developing and providing services to increase psychological and cognitive wellness and resiliency; improve assessment, policies and programmatics for psychological services; reinforce prevention, cognitive enhancement, and biofeedback; and increasing access to services and collaboration with other medical staff within MARSOC and the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune. She also started her own private practice, Dr. Delight, PA in 2012 to provide telehealth services to clients in both Florida and North Carolina. In 2015 she joined the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center as a Clinical Psychologist in order to continue to serve veterans in the community.

She has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings and within community centers, military treatment facilities, hospitals, and private practice. Dr. Thompson brings a wide range of experience and training to her clinical care and believes in quality, high standards, and comprehensive treatment.
