I was born and raised in Daegu, South Korea.
Daegu is also the city where I taught middle school and high school students as a full-time English teacher for the first time.
I also came back to Daegu after getting my Ph.D. and worked as a lecturer at two universities.
I lived in Vancouver, Canada for 1.5 years with my family when I was in upper elementary school. I had such a valuable experience making friends from diverse backgrounds and learning to speak in English.
I lived in Seoul, South Korea as an undergraduate student. I had so much fun "adulting" for the first time and experiencing all that Seoul could offer.
After getting my Ph.D., I had the honor of working as a lecturer at my alma mater.
I studied in Hong Kong University as a summer exchange student in 2014. It was the first time ever living in a foreign country by myself!
I did a teaching practicum abroad in Arlington, Texas, USA in 2015. I taught English classes at a middle school where I met wonderful students who expressed so much love for me and K-culture (btw, K-culture was not as big as it is now).
I lived in beautiful Sydney, Australia doing my Master's program.
I also discovered my identity as an avid traveler as I've been to almost every famous Sydney spots.
I did my Ph.D. in sunny California, where I met wonderful mentors, amazing colleagues, and precious lifelong friends.
I am currently a faculty member at Changwon National University.
My goal here is to put a lot of passion and effort into student mentoring and helping local communities thrive.
