COMPARATIVE STUDY
(External Assessment)
Students identify, selects and researches each of the task components.
Students carry out research into a chosen area of film focus, identifying and comparing two films from within that area and presenting their discoveries as a recorded multimedia comparative study explaining the reasons why they have chosen the films, focus, and cultural context and why they are appropriate for study.
A balance between visual and spoken elements
Weight of evidence should be selected from the two chosen films & should be given equal consideration
Must have recorded commentary by the student introducing the study and justifying the chosen topic and selected films, as well as providing the commentary for the main body of the work
Begin with a 10-second black slate that clearly states the task component using on screen text.
Recorded commentary begins simultaneously with the black slate, should address the justification of the task components
