A yo-yo (also spelled yoyo) is a toy consisting of an axle connected to two disks, and a string looped around the axle, similar to a spool. It is an ancient toy with proof of existence since 500 BC. The yo-yo was also called a bandalore in the 17th century.

Eventually, wider string gaps and silicone response systems led to the innovation of unresponsive yoyoing, otherwise known as 1A. Traditional yoyos (responsive) would return to the hand when one would tug on the string, but unresponsive yoyos behave a little differently. Instead of returning to the hand when one tugs on the string, one has to perform a trick called a "bind" where the string is doubled over inside the string gap to increase friction on the response system. This has brought about innovation of many different kinds of tricks involving leaving slack in the string, as this would have caused a responsive yoyo to return to the hand. This style of yoyoing is the most popular and the most common, and the most yoyo tricks are done with 1A yoyos.

Photos from as early as the late 1950s show early yo-yo demonstrators performing very basic 3A tricks, such as a Sleeper with one hand, and a Trapeze with the other. While 3A as a concept has existed for many years, it was not until the debut of Velvet Rolls, coupled with the rise of unresponsive yoyo play, that development began on what is currently considered Triple A. This is the most complex style and is the most likely to obtain knots, dings, and clangs.

Yo-yos optimized for off-string tricks have flared designs, like the butterfly shape, which makes it easier to land on the string, and often have soft rubber rings on the edges, so minimum damage is inflicted on the yo-yo, the player, or anyone who happens to be standing nearby, should a trick go wrong. There are also tricks which involve the use of two off-string yoyos at the same time, thrown with the same hand, this is known as "soloham".

So here we are with a club yoyo. The Gnome is a slightly undersized organic D-bearing yoyo designed for fun and performance. Crafted from 7068 Aluminum for durability and design, The Gnome features a prominent undercut rim which adds spin time and stability and is perfect for thumb grinds. Other notable features include a response area featuring a stylized schmoove, and a dimple made for fingerspin.

I seen those yoyos a lot around, while is not my style of playing I have to say that the graphics, the idea and the colourways are great and very funny, this is such a good job and congratulations to you and to also transform your time recovering in something great!

Designed for fun with the essence of YYR in mind!

The GOPA is built for casual play with a shape inspired by classic yoyo designs. The large diameter paired with a narrow width and light weight is reminiscent of an era when metal yo-yos were just becoming available on the market. It plays fast and agile with just enough stability. Infused with Yoyorecreation's design know-how, it has the perfect balance of modern performance and classic feel!

M Queens

The M queens puzzle is the problem of placing M chess queens on an M x M chessboard so that no two queens threaten each other; thus, a solution requires that no two queens share the same row, column, or diagonal.

Odd Weird Search

This project is a number-theoretic project which searches for odd weird numbers. In fact, no odd weird number is known. Previous effort searches up to 1021. The project continues this effort of searching for odd weird numbers up to 1028.

Harmonious Trees

Graham and Sloane proposed in 1980 a conjecture stating that every tree has a harmonious labelling, a graph labelling closely related to additive base. We do a computational approach to this conjecture by checking trees with limited size.

HydroLAB - ... News 30 October 2023 P78 ECM factor!

User Moor found a 78-digit prime factor of an Cunningham number using ECM. This is the largest ECM factor found this year, and the 4th largest for all times (and the largest found by yoyo@home).

 20 June 2023 P73 ECM factor!

User ccurtis0 found a 73-digit prime factor of an XYYXF number using ECM. This is another entry into the ECMNET top 10 list for this year!

12 May 2023 Amazing ECM factor!

User Favebook found a 77-digit prime factor of an Homogeneous Cunningham number using ECM. This is by far the largest factor found anywhere by ECM this year, and is the 4th largest ever. Very exciting!

This was a very lucky find (about a 1 in 28.3 million chance for a single curve).

6 May 2023 2 factors found by Pentathlon

The next 2 factors were found by the BOINC Pentathlon, a 55 digit factor by JayPi2 of team SETI.Germany anda 58 digit factor by biodoc of team TeAm AnandTech.

 2 May 2023 Welcome Pentathlon

The ECM and ECM P2 projects were choosen by the BOINC Pentathlon in the discipline Obstacle Run. Many user are already downloading lot of workunits and some return already. Credits are not yet counted for the Pentathlon, but we already have a noteworthy result, a 65 digit prime was found. This was sent to Paul Zimmermann to fill his list of ecm records.

YoYoTricks.com Sage Yoyo Review The Sage is an update to one of our most popular yoyos (now called the Sage Classic). The original Sage was featured in more videos than any other model, so we took special care when updating it to ensure it maintains its excellent accessibility and performance.

Manufacturer's Description of The Sage YoyoAn exclusive to YoYoTricks.com, The Sage Yoyo was designed specifically for players learning how to yoyo on YoYoTricks.com. Built to our specifications by YoYoFactory, we wanted The Sage to be the yoyo for someone who is looking for that one yoyo that can introduce them to all the different yoyo play styles. For someone who is new to yoyoing, The Sage plays easy and responsive out of the box. It is well suited to all kinds of basic string tricks as well as certain looping tricks that involve the Flip motion, like Shoot the Moon and Stalls. To keep The Sage playing like new we recommend getting some Thin Yoyo Lube which helps protect the bearing and keeps it playing responsive. This lube is included in The Sage Yoyo Starter Pack, recommended for anyone who is new to yoyoing, but is serious about starting to learn tricks.

For more advanced Unresponsive String Tricks, The Sage can be easily upgraded with the addition of a VIP yoyo bearing (sold separately, or as a part of The Sage Yoyo Starter Pack). Swapping out the included thin bearing for the VIP bearing will more than double sleep times and opens up a whole new world of tricks for more advanced players. 2351a5e196
