Hi I am hoping someone on here can help. I use my phone for internet via pdanet. Uplay can't download anything, the download stays at 0b/s. uplay is the only software with this issue but after 5 hours working with several reps yesterday they just told me my internet isn't supported and they would no longer help me. I asked for a key for the epic store because that works fine and they told me no. I got the game from buying an rx590 so they aren't going to refund me either. so basically they stole $60 from me but hey its ubisoft why would i expect any different.

Trying to find a WiFi hotspot to connect your laptop or netbook can be quite a mission at times. With PdaNet though, you can ensure you can always get your computer connected - using your Android phone. You just need to download and install the desktop client on your PC then follow the on-screen instructions. Note that you may have to download driver software if PdaNet doesn't recognize your device.

After couple of days of fight with drivers I found solution and applied it with success. As I supposed and wrote in one comment above, the problem was not in adb drivers but with drivers (esspecially usb driver) installation. Shortly, to properly install drivers and run adb I need to clean cache drivers and rescan computer to rebuild driver information. I found description of similar problem here:

Actually, for this software to work via WiFi, you need to also download the APK file and install it on your Android smartphone. It does not require root access before you can install it on your mobile device. For USB connections, this software installs a generic USB driver; thus, making it possible to share the internet from your smartphone to your PC using a USB cable. This software bypasses most restrictions from network providers and offers you limitless speed to browse the internet. Generally, this software is easy to use; plus, it features an intuitive interface. Generally, this software utilizes minimal system resources.

Davy, what carrier are you using for your phone. I used to use pdanet many years ago but then it no longer worked but I'd like to look into it again but I just read of some problems with someone using AT&T (I use Verizon). Also, is your phone unlocked or do you have a hotspot plan?

The process to synchronize between your PdaNet enabled PDA and your Windows Mobile smart phone are simple; all you need is your PdaNet account number for syncing to work. If you have any other Bluetooth devices such as a USB memory stick, mouse, keyboard or any other items that can act as a connection device with your PdaNet device, all you need is the Bluetooth Dun driver installed on your windows smart phone. Bluetooth Dun is the latest technology designed especially for the PdaNet software and works very well in sync with your PdaNet smart phone.

To check if your PdaNet drivers are working properly, please download the latest version of PdaNet and run a diagnostics test. Just connect your PdaNet enabled smart phone to your computer using the Bluetooth or USB data cable and run the diagnostics test. You will receive a failure or an error code that identifies the issue; simply follow the instructions printed on the screen. Please note that this program is only compatible with windows versions before the operating system version 3.2, which is the current version of android and many other mobile devices including smart phones. If your smart phone runs on androids 3.2 or later, it should be automatically detected by PdaNet.

This tutorial can be used in conjunction with my previous post regarding the generic root procedure for Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 and Android Jelly Bean 4.1. As I wrote before, that method should root most phones, but it is required to be able to access the phone via debugging mode in Windows which is where these drivers come in.

I had found a way to install the ADB Driver without completing the installation of PDAnet (I think most of you will not need it for the whole process). When the dialog appears that you want to install the ADB Driver, install, but when a second dialog asking this time to install the network driver (unnecessary for this tutorial), in a few moments the PDAnet installation will fail, and uninstall, except the ADB Driver. Done using Windows 7.

My phone has no Developer USB Debugging mode anywhere. It fails to install the driver because of this and has thwarted all my hours of trying to root it.
