My mother has spectrum and we recently dumped her box and switched to using the app to save money. She's been using the app on her 5+ yr old Samsung smart tv but the interface is on the clunky side (which I find true of many of the Samsung apps), it often takes an extremely long time to load, and I live too far away to provide much tech support. I am considering getting her a Roku in the hopes that it will be easier to use. Does anyone have experience with both (or even just the Roku app) that can comment on usability for someone who is not tech savy?

These codes do not seem to work with my rc122 since it only takes the first 4 digits and not five so all the lights blink whenever I enter four digits of the code. This is the older black spectrum rc122 control. I also tried 1098. The Roku tcl tv will not shut off or control the volume with the Spectrum remove. Channel up or down is controlled. The Spectrum remote does appear to turn on the Roku tv but not turn it off. This is my wife's tv and she's been complaining about this for a while. It used to work just fine. And it has fresh batteries and rebooted the cable box because it's sometimes a Spectrum screw up too. Nothing works!!!!

Since spectrum updated their tv app. Everyday I have to sign into this app to use it on 2 different Roku sticks , they say it's a modem BUT every other streaming app under the sun but spectrums work fine, so I can't believe that solution at all

I am seeing the same thing. it happened tonight at 7:10 to me. This is not an internet issue I have looked at my throughput on my router and there is no drop in service and my tv is connected via ethernet. This seems to have started with the latest release 11/17/2023 build date. I have seen this some additional times beyond the 7:10 times also. This is most definitely a Spectrum bug in the app. It does not act like connection errors. I even tested this by disconnecting my tv from ethernet and also testing disconnecting my modem, both of these tests produced connection errors but did not make the spectrum app go black. I have also reinstalled the spectrum app, hard reset the roku tv and did a full factory reset on the roku tv.

We have 2 Rokus, 1 on our family room TV and 1 on the TV in our bedroom. The one downstairs in the family room recognizes me when I turn to the Spectrum TV app.......the one upstairs however, just started asking me for my user name and password when I choose the Spectrum TV app. (it never used to do this) So I go to enter my user name and password (for My Spectrum), it tells me that the information I provided does not match what they have on file? I click OK, and then it tells me that Spectrum TV app is not available on Roku. Now we've been watching this app for nearly 2 years with no issues. Why all of sudden did it kick me off? I do NOT want to uninstall the app and reinstall it for fear that I won't be able to access it again. I checked the Roku software and it's recently been updated, I have tried rebooting the router, the modem, the Roku and the TV on many occasions. Can someone help me understand how and why this has happened? Is anyone else experiencing similar issues? I am trying to schedule a spectrum tech to come out and troubleshoot.

Talked to spectrum and they said I must be on the same home network.Why would i use roku at home when i have cable tv there.The roku ad implies you can watch spectrum anywhere.Calling spectrum is useless

Trying to help my son at college. Brand new Roku TV with spectrum community Wi-Fi at his apartment. The TV will connect to the Wi-Fi for initial setup and update of software. However after the TV is setup, it will not stay connected to the Wi-Fi. I can even go through the network test, it says it's connected, then I go to status and it's not connected. Apps will not open bc it says it's not connected.

Pixelation with spectrum streaming, but lately only with commercials, especially spectrum commercials or disney commercials, lol Sometimes have to shut down roku for a minute to get rid of buffering, but was a daily thing. Now just pixelation with commericials. To be honest always something. (on both tv's)

We are having the same problem with all 3 of our tvs. Tried literally everything roku has suggested with nothing working. I'm beyond irritated at this point, it has absolutely nothing to do with the wifi and everything to do with rokus end. Currently 3 other people I know in my area are also having the exact same problem with their roku tv.

When trying to stream Spectrum TV app using my roku device, it freezes up after a few seconds. Spectrum TV says they are aware of the issue, roku tells me they are working with Specturm regarding the app interface with roku...however, one member of the roku community says their Spectrum tv app service folks says the issue is with netgear not the spectrum app. Any one have a similar issue?

It`s been more than nine months since this issue began harassing charter subscribers with Roku devices. However, neither provider did anything to resolve the conflict. I just bought a TV with Roku just so I can stream the spectrum. I also bought one like Christmas for someone so they could do the same. Now I`m finding out that we can`t even use it for that. I honestly discuss if I can return my television and the present. As a customer, I find this very frustrating. Roku just lost a customer. While both sides often say they are trying to reach a mutual agreement, there is always a constant blame game with paying customers stuck in between. After an eight-month absence from the Roku Channel Store, Charter`s Spectrum TV app is once again available for download for Spectrum TV cable customers. The app allows subscribers to Spectrum TV cable, live TV channels, and on-demand shows to stream through Roku devices without the need for a separate cable set-top box. Neither company has given more details about the deal, but Roku has already seen similar support disputes, even with some of the biggest streaming players.

RLP 999 spectrum is saying this is Roku's to fix. I can pull up spectrum on my computer but not thru Roku. yes I have turned Roku off waited forever,, still the same messages . Yes I have deleted the app and brought it back up still the same message yes I have looked at Spectrums web site useless

Thank you. After 3 days of calls to both spectrum and Roku, with neither offering this solution, I tried it and it worked. I even bought a new Roku thinking that was the problem. Crazy neither company knew of this easy fix.

I have intermittant problems with my Roku boxes buffering a lot, to the point that they are almost unusable. They are both hardwired and Wifi.

It appears that the roku ip addresses are being blocked by the firewall.

What is the best way to allow this traffic and get rid of the buffering problem?

The problem seems to only occur when connected to Spectrum/Charter IPs when using the spectrum app. I can connect normally to other Roku streaming apps such as Netflix, CNN, Fox News, NewsMax, YouTube, History, Discovery, etc. 2351a5e196
