Terraria has over eighty music tracks across every version of the game. Each one will play and loop endlessly while the player is in a specific biome or while certain events are taking place. Music is individual to each player, and as such its volume can be lowered or disabled entirely within the settings menu.

The soundtracks can be listened to and purchased from Steam as a single soundtrack. The first three volumes can be purchased from Bandcamp individually. The first two volumes are also included when the game is bought on GOG.com. Tracks are listed in the order they appear on the soundtrack. All of the albums can also be listened on the streaming service Spotify aswell as on Apple Music and other various music streaming services.

The console soundtrack features a mix of the desktop soundtrack and several additional tracks which are listed below. Although Blake Robinson was commissioned to create the music for the trailers, the in-game music was created by Scott Lloyd Shelly.

The soundtrack originally written for the cancelled game Terraria: Otherworld was added to Terraria with the Journey's End update. It features 27 themes. In-game, the Party Girl NPC can be used to switch between normal music and "otherworldy" music after a world with the 05162020 world seed has been visited for the first time. Tracks follow the same naming convention as Terraria's, resulting in some duplicated names (music boxes for these songs disambiguate by being called "Otherworldly Music Box" instead of just "Music Box"), but there are less songs in total: for example there are only two "generic" boss music and a single track for all invasion events. Interestingly, the Wall of Flesh gets a unique theme with this soundtrack, instead of sharing the Boss 2 theme with The Twins. Plantera, the Moon Lord, and the Lunar Events also get unique tracks, as in the regular soundtrack. Most pre-hardmode bosses get the Boss 1 theme; all other hardmode bosses get the Boss 2 theme.

Music Discs are items dropped by Bosses with 1/3 (33%) chance. As the name suggests, they contain music on them and can be played in a Gramophone. Music Discs and Gramophones differ from Music Boxes a lot, as Gramophones play music as in-world sounds that do not replace game's current Music, and Music Discs mostly carry classic compositions or really old songs that have nothing to do with Terraria.

Vanilla Calamity Mod Music is a large music mod for Terraria that aims to replace the entire vanilla soundtrack with new songs made in the context of the Calamity Mod OST. The mod currently adds 49 new songs to various areas of the game.

The Calamity Mod adds many new tracks or music to the game. Almost all tracks are made by composer DM DOKURO, with three featuring SixteenInMono, four tracks composed by Sploopo, four tracks by PinpinNeon, four tracks by CDMusic, two tracks by RoverdriveX, two tracks by GummyLeeches, one track by Thriplerex, one track by lilquail, one track by Brimston Premium, one track by Ridiculon, two tracks by Heart Plus Up!, one track by seeksery, one track by Perturbator, three tracks by The ExiIed FeIIow, one track by mudeth, one track by StarvoXD, one track by GaMetal, and one track by Chief Keef. So far, there are 69 tracks currently in-game. Almost every track composed by DM DOKURO in this mod is featured in an album known as The Tale Of A Cruel World.

Calamity's music tracks can only be heard in-game if the music add-on mod, known as Calamity Mod Music, is installed and enabled. This mod can be downloaded from the official Calamity Mod Discord server, the front page of this wiki, or alternatively installed through the tModLoader Mod Browser. This music do be hittin' different tho. If this add-on isn't installed, all Calamity themes will be replaced with vanilla Terraria tracks.

It's a sombre and incredibly atmospheric track that plays in the main menu of the game, which replaces the vanilla title screen track, and can be reverted back to it via the Configuration options. This track can also play in-game when its corresponding music box is used, after being obtained via crafting or the Starter Bag.

Over the life of the game, composer Scott Lloyd Shelly has produced hours of beloved soundtrack music, mixing chiptune with orchestral, rock, and other synthesized elements to create a bubbly and vibrant signature sound for Terraria.

The Spirit Mod adds many new music tracks to the game for its Bosses, Biomes, Events and even a few of vanilla Terrarias Biomes. So far there are 33 different tracks currently in-game. 32 of tracks in the current Spirit Mod OST were made by Salvati, with 1 track remaining from the original Spirit Mod OST composer made by LordCakeSpy. ff782bc1db
