Hello, I'm new to Upwork & I don't know how to proceed. Each job I have applied, the notification says, 'contact via Telegram'. I didn't understand it, till I surfed about it. So telegram is a service outside of Upwork ! At Upwork, we hv to contact via 'msgs' & companies offer a contract. Then what? Plz some1 guide me fully...... thanks.

I am new to upwork, but I see a lot of jobs with telegram as the way to contact the employer. I haven't felt comfortable with these so have not sent a proposal to any of them, but can't upwork kill these before they get posted?

A company I'm working with wants me to chat with them inbox about a project on telegram. And I have already accepted the chat before I remember it's forbidden to work outside Upwork. Should I keep chatting with them or stop?

it is scam. i have been scammed once, and now when i see "contact by telegram or whatsapp" i know it is a scam. problem is that 80 per cents of the proposiion in upwork are like this. i dont uderstand there is no verification.

I'm so glad I googled this this morning! Just had the same request. Someone wanted me to contact someone else via telegram with no other information. I thought it sounded odd glad I checked. Also glad to know Upwork had this policy in place to protect us freelancers hungry for work.

Hi. Either I had come across the same with a message asking to contact through telegram. I was wondering why would they need to message on telegram when Upwork does already have a messaging tool. Moreover , I was also scammed by landing on to a link that was a virus which was mentioned in the job description. So yeah, we gotta be really alert!!

Hello today i have received message from apen and the person name is sherriff miller from upwork site stating that connect with them telegram so I connected but later i asked that person to talk to me directly from upwork i got replied no . Then i come to know this is something fishy. Requesting you to look into this so that people will not share their bank details with them.

I just installed telegram-desktop.

Started Telegram >> Clicked the START MESSAGING button >> Entered my mobile phone number >> Clicked the NEXT button. BOOM!!! Message displayed right under my phone number: "Internal server error." The thin blue line under my phone number, turned to red.

@codinghorror Recently openssl version was changed in latest discourse docker container due to which this issue is arising. On host machine I tried using OpenSSL 1.1.1 for telegram api and it loads the certificate.

Im having telegram on my windows 7 desktop machine.

I wanted to know is there a way to disable the "automatic media download" option that exists in telegram desktop? which causes the app to download all photoes and voices at the moment that the screen reaches them.

The telegram which is on android platform has an option in its settings in which you can untick photo and audio inorder to prevent it from auto downloading such media, but there is no such option in the settings of the desktop version.

Any help would be appreciated.

unlike the older versions of telegram, the newer version has automatic media downloads in advanced setting and not in chat settings. thussFIRST open SETTINGS then click on ADVANCED then look for AUTOMATIC MEDIA DOWNLOADS. under it you will see ( in private charts, in groups, in channels) click on them to set your automatic download preferences for each of them

Hello, I have deployed a pytelegrambotapi bot here in render after the heroku stopped the free tier, However, I am seeing that my bot often stops as there are 2 instances running but I am pretty sure that I have been running only one. I searched the community and found out that render uses preboot and zero down time promise which I think may cause the error. Is there a way to disable this and fix my issue? Thanks ff782bc1db
