Unfortunately, Windows does a poor job of keeping drivers up to date, so often times you have to manually update your drivers or use a tool that will help do it for you. However, we strongly recommend looking for drivers by visiting the wireless device or computer manufacturer's website - learn here how to update your wireless (Wi-Fi) drivers: -how-to-update-your-wireless-wifi-driver.

I am running Connectify on Windows 10 and am sharing my Ethernet connection's internet to an Android phone and a Macbook Pro. Both devices connect flawlessly to the network and also can access the internet through it, but the internet connection stops after a random time period. The wifi connection is still up, but it returns a "no connection" error until it is disconnected and reconnected. This time period varies from a few seconds to a few hours. The Connectify tray icon then shows no connected devices (blue). The wifi adapters power settings are set to not switch off or sleep.I am not quite sure, but I think on Windows 7, it worked and didnt stop the connection. What might the problem be and how can I solve it?

I've been running Connectify for months on my at-mount mini PC to create a wifi hotspot so I can use RDP to control the mini with my ipad. I have paid for Connectify and have a license for it. It works well and I like it since I don't need an external wifi router and that also saves me a USB port on my mini PC.

Yeah, the phone-home thing revalidates the license. I have, at work, a lot of software that works that way, no way around it. Connect to your house wifi and run the software, the warning should go away. Then make a schedule to do that connection every 40?, 50?, 60? days. Or work around it with ad hoc wifi.

I don't believe that Windows 10 can set up an ad-hoc wifi hotspot, that functionality has been deprecated. As far as I can tell an external wifi router or something like Connectify are the only two ways its possible.

I wanted to be able to take my mount-side mini PC out in the field and connect to it in the same matter as an ASIAir. It has a soft access-point capability that provides a network to connect to via a mobile wifi device.

That was the key. After turning that off, now when I cold-start my mountside PC, it starts transmitting a WiFi signal that I can immediately connect to and RDP to via my samsung tablet or google phone. No need for an separate travel wifi router/ap that requires additional battery power.

There is an alternative to the Mobile Hotspot, that being the "hosted Network" function. My particular mini-pc's wireless network hardware does not support it. You have to find a USB wifi adapter that does support hosted network and that is supposed to allow it. The ones I have here apparently do not and Im a bit tired of buying $20 adapters to make this work when I know a simple travel router will do the job.

But for the majority of us it will be an external USB wifi dongle, which means it takes up a USB port on your mini. Or Connectify which requires no hardware, but needs to to be connected to the internet once a month to 'call home'.

Ive read that some newer D-Link wifi adapters do support hosted networks. D-Link DWA-131 Wireless N Nano USB Adapter(rev.E) is one I read that supports. I just got tired of buying all these pieces only to run into another Windows roadblock!

I would like to use my laptop as an Access point, so that i can connect my phones through Wifi. I have done this my office laptop T410. I am having T61 with wifi module 4965. Connectify on windows does not support it. I am following these instructions to make achieve WAP capability on my T61 running ubuntu 10.10.

The link says something about "master mode", how do i put my T61 wifi-inter4965 in master mode. Can I install madwifi or atheros drivers on it? I am using galaxy S froyo, and it does not support Ad-hoc network. Has anyone tried to achieve this?

I have next situation. My home computer has 100 Mbit cabel internet connection. Cabel from internet provider connected to network card in my PC. I have real IP address (for example 150.140.130.120) Also I have simple USB wifi modem witch can work as access point. I use Connectify Hotspot software to share my internet connection via wifi to other people and for my mobile devices also. All users who connected to my wifi have IP address 192.168.77.xxx)

My task: I want to see what web-sites users of my wifi point visits. I start Wireshark to capture packets from both interfaces (1st - is my real network card with internet cabel from my provider; 2nd - my wireless connection (it is created automatically by Connectify hotspot)). On both interfaces packets count permanently increases, little bit faster on real network connection, that is right. In the list of captured packets in Wireshark I see all HTTP GET\POST queries and Full request URI. I use this filter: http.request and http.request.method != M-SEARCH But I have one big problem... In all packets Source address is identical. And it equal IP address of my PC (150.140.130.120). I cant see source IP address from wifi users (their IP address should be from 192.168.77.xxx subnetwork). Also I cant see source IP address of packets from my mobile device. I can see all HTTP queries from my mobile device, but source of all packets is 150.140.130.120, but should be 192.168.77.59). If I try to use other filter like this (ip.addr == 192.168.77.59), I cant see packets with HTTP GET\POST queries and Full request URI. I see only TCP, UDP, DNS packets and some HTTP packets but without GET\POST\URI headers. if I do not use any filters then same situation (i see packets but with real IP address of my PC 150.140.130.120), and many more other low-level packets. Maybe on gateway PC I need to some configure Wireshark to see correct IP addresses. Or maybe i need to use some solutions for NAT networks. I dont know...

Also I have simple USB wifi modem witch can work as access point. I use Connectify Hotspot software to share my internet connection via wifi

start Wireshark to capture packets from both interfaces (2nd - my wireless connection (it is created automatically by Connectify hotspot)). On both interfaces packets count permanently increases,

I have used AC-7265 on a Win 8.1 computer with connectify and has worked great. Since updating to windows 10 and updating intel drivers, it now says AP mode is inactivated. No matter how many times i reinstall the drivers, the hardware, etc, I cannot activate this. Connectify help indicated that with the AC-7265, Intel has turned off AP mode in Windows 10.

When using my T-Mobile phone with only 14GB of LTE hotspot I have to use PdaNet to bypass the restriction. Since I don't know of any routers with built-in PdaNet clients I go through the laptop to "convert" back to regular wifi.

The poems respond to two requirements: they have a maximum of 30 characters (standard SSID length on Wi-Fi systems) and they express the personal vision of their authors about Cuba. The micro poems will intervene in different locations in the city of Miami through a digital device called CU.WEMOS//, created specifically for this project. It can emit multiple wifi signals simultaneously. Viewers will find 100 poems inside their digital devices, without the need for a password.

1. Follow the given procedure in the video until you see the firewall (network) option.

2. Select Interactive filtering instead of Automatic. (Make sure the devices you want to connect to connectify me are with WIfi turned off)

3. After selecting interactive mode, ESET SS will give you a some of the allow deny options for some applications, now allow all the CONNECTIFY ME dialogues and make them a rule by checking the same button.

4. Turn on the wifi on the devices you want to connect to connectify me.

5. Connect to connectify me in your devices.

6. Now ESET SS will again ask for inbound and outbound traffic, check your device name and then and then select the ALLOW Button with making a rule checked.

7. Done. Now your devices must be connected to the connectify me.

8. Turn on the automatic filtering in Eset SS.

Ok, so I'm sure I'll get flamed for the heresy of bringing electronics on vacation but here goes. Let's say I brought my windows laptop, my iphone and my Kindle Fire with me aboard ship. Then I purchase Carnival's top tier wifi plan. Now, I realize that I can switch back and forth between devices but what if I wanted my iphone AND my laptop connected at the same time? Can I share the connection between multiple devices by either 1. Using Windows 10's hotspot feature? 2. Third party software like "Connectify"? or 3. A wifi to wifi travel router? Has anyone had any success with this?

You can share a wifi package between devices, but unfortunately cannot use the same connection at the same time. If you log a different device into the wifi, it logs you out of the other. Tried it on our most recent cruise. Ended up buying my 14 year old the social package because I was tired of her logging me out of my package (sadly, I have to stay connected for work, yes, even on vacation).

This is what I do on my boat in the Caribbean. Yes a router would work with a mifi device. I would pick up a free wifi signal "Simpson Bay Marina' for example. The router would change the name to the name of my boat and anyone can log on. My wifi antenna is on my mast and I can pick up signals a 1/4 mile away.

I had no problem sharing the wifi package between a few devices last year on the magic. I signed up for the wifi on my samsung S7 then enabled the hotspot feature and logged my laptop and 2 other phones into the hotspot. Noted that none were very fast but I was able to download a game or two to my daughters phone as well as use my laptop to reply to some emails in outlook. Can't wait to test again this June l. ff782bc1db
