My fiancee and I are getting married in October and we are trying to come up with songs! We both grew up on and love the Metalcore, post hardcore, etc genres. It's always played a very big role in our relationship and we would love to include some songs that show that. Obviously we don't wanna "scare" grandma and the few kids that will be there, and also we will play an array of music because we know not EVERYONE will love what we love.

But for example our first dance will be Lune by Periphery. And we know we will also play Wake Up by Coheed. I also wanna get the Ed Sheeran Perfect cover by Asking Alexandria off of YouTube. But anything other suggestions are absolutely welcome! Even some classic rock songs if you can think of them. And I'll cross post this over to r/posthardcore too.

Of course the song I love, my heart I surrender by I Prevail and fade in fade out by nothing more are both beautiful but lyrically dont really match up with a first wedding dance and a father daughter dance. My father wants to dance to sound of silence by disturbed but again while it.is beautiful it doesnt quite fit.

Any recommendations? Could be acoustic versions of songs or really anything. I like a very broad range of music from pop rock like mayday parade and ymas to much harder rock and metal so pretty much all the genres in between are fair game.

Bouquet tossing got a whole lot more interesting when Beyonc dropped this 2008 smash. The sassy self-worth anthem and instant wedding staple makes unwed women the belles of the ball for three glorious minutes. At no point in the party will the dancing be fiercer. Listen here.

The list is endless and you've covered some of our top picks, but here are a few more (compiled as a clergyperson and once part of a husband-wife clergy team who'd done many weddings and cringed at song choices!):

If one cannot listen to his/her favourite music on their wedding day, perhaps the one you're marrying isn't worth. You should never stop being yourself just to please others (whomever they may be), or else you're faking.

Over a year trying to get him to help pick out the personal things he has just not been part of. He didn't even know what songs we were dancing to till last night and didn't even listen to them. He then said he would pick out his mom and son song and spent hours trying to find the right one.

I doubt this is actually about the song.

Either you are stressing over wedding details and blowing this out of proportion or there are much deeper issues here (relationship issues) and instead of focusing on the real issues, you are focusing on the song. Talk to your FI and explain (calmly) how you feel. But don't compare his relationship with his mom to your relationship. Without knowing more details, I don't know if you are just freaking out over wedding stress or if it is a relationship issue.

I am a sucker for first dances at weddings. I get choked up watching these milestone moments at every single wedding. Songs are so tied to our emotions. It is hard to give specific suggestions on wedding first dance songs, father-daughter songs, or mother-son songs but I am going to give some any way!

Since becoming a mother to a little boy, I have to say that the mother-son songs get me good. I can imagine the day when I will be dancing with my son. At that time he will probably be taller than me. I daydream about what I will say to him and how happy he will be that day as he becomes a husband.

And then Cali Stars!! When we saw Jeff solo in Austin in 2007, my wife screamed out "Play California Stars it's our wedding song!" He actually said,"I should not encourage this kind of behavior", he then switched guitars and played California Stars!! The best moment of our lives!!

On 9 April 2018, Kesha released her song from the album, "I Need a Woman to Love" (a reworking of "I Need a Man to Love", originally sung by Janis Joplin on the album Cheap Thrills) with a video featuring Kesha officiating at a same-sex wedding.[5] The music video won Best Editing at the 2019 Webby Awards.

Your first dance is one of the highlights of your wedding. The ceremony is over and everyone is relaxing at the party. This is your chance to have a special romantic moment with your partner before the craziness of the partying descends again.

Your first dance is a chance to take a step away from the planning, the crowds, the bustling energy of a wedding. Why not take the opportunity to slow things down by choosing a more relaxed, down-tempo first dance song.

Get your party shoes on! The grand entrance is your chance to get your guests hyped up for the evening ahead! Your wedding party will have a blast getting introduced with one of these upbeat songs in the background:

There you have it! We hope you enjoyed reading this blog post all about the best wedding songs. From the time you start getting ready, to the ride home from the reception, music is definitely a very important component of any wedding celebration!

It's a fresh start, a new year, love is in the air and many of you are planning a wedding (or helping a friend plan their wedding)! We've had a lot of people reach out about using Emily's songs for their wedding videos, or for ceremony music. So here's all the info you need!

The very first on the list of wedding ceremony songs are the wedding prelude songs. The songs for this part of the day should be chosen carefully as they will set the tone for the rest of the wedding. Wedding prelude music should be slow and calming background music that would create a romantic atmosphere and not distract guests.

Less sentimental and more upbeat tunes are often chosen for recessional wedding songs. The end of the wedding ceremony and the exit of the bride and groom is a joyful moment, so these should be lighthearted, celebratory, and fun wedding songs that reflect the joy of everyone there.

There are lots of popular wedding songs to choose from for a wedding ceremony. Some couples love the classics while others prefer songs closer to their heart. During the ceremony, these interlude songs can play lightly in the background, or during special moments such as hand binding, candle lighting, and other wedding rituals.

Music is the lifeblood of any event, so every aspect of a wedding would need its choice of music. Cocktail hour is a time of fun, drinks, and photos, so some of the best wedding songs would suffice. About twelve or thirteen songs would be required if the segment lasts a full hour.

A wedding is an important day for the father of the bride as well, and this makes father-daughter wedding songs significant. A sentimental number that describes and celebrates the bond that a father shares with his daughter would be a fitting choice for this dance. It can be slow or fast-paced, and joyful.

Another popular dance at weddings is the mother and son dance. This adorable moment needs to be accompanied by mother and son wedding dance songs that would be meaningful to the groom and his mother. Jazz, ballads, and even rock songs would make the cut. 17dc91bb1f
