All of our KioWare for Android kiosk software products work as kiosk lockdown software, securing your Android device and turning it into a kiosk. KioWare for Android protects your application by securing the operating system and home screen as well as serving as a browser lockdown and limiting the Android applications your users can run. Our Server version for Android gives you the additional ability for remote monitoring of the health and status of your tablets from a central server.

KioWare for Android is an Android kiosk app and creates a kiosk tablet environment for your Android device. This kiosk lockdown app is available in Lite, Basic and Full with Server versions, depending on your Android lockdown needs. Download our KioWare for Android kiosk app (demo) from the Google Playstore.

Regardless of the workflow choices that the student makes when checking in to the Kiosk, students will be prompted to enter a student ID. Students may also be prompted to enter a last name, depending on your institution's configurations. Students may be able to swipe in using a card reader and their student ID card. With this option, the student ID should auto populate. If a swipe card reader is not being used, the student will enter this information manually.

If the student chooses a reason with available Group Sessions, a message displays asking if the student wants a Group Session or 1:1 meeting. If the student selects Group Session, a list of available sessions displays.

The Kiosk displays a message asking if the student is there for the upcoming appointment. If the student has more than one appointment scheduled with members of the Kiosk, the student will be prompted to check in for whichever appointment happens first.

For Self-Service Kiosks, students will be able to check in and track their time at a Service without meeting with a service provider. The check in process will be the same as for a drop-in meeting and the student's time at the service will be based solely on the check in and check out times.

The virtual Kiosk behaves in the same way as the in-person Kiosk, except that Starfish knows more about the student when they start the check-in process, and the workflow is adjusted to make the process even faster and easier based on that information.

The student waits to be contacted and is prompted to either return to the Student Dashboard or the My Success Network landing page (based on your institutions configurations). Click to open the Configure the Student View for more.

We don't show the option to check into other services that are part of that Kiosk when students access a Service that they are already checked into. This is because the student can easily select any available Service from My Success Network and is not limited to the services at the given Kiosk like they are when checking into Kiosks on-site.

IT was able to work with the kiosk vendor to upgrade the software to put additional safeguards in place. After a student returns a laptop to the kiosk, the laptop will be unavailable for checkout until someone from IT cleans and clears the laptop. This requires administrative action at the kiosk, and the bay will remain locked until this has taken place. We will monitor the activity to ensure optimization and clean the laptops as often as needed.

Our mission is to bridge the distance-learning gap by creating a virtual lounge for all aspects of student life at CUNY SPS. At The Kiosk, students can learn about CUNY SPS clubs, events, creative projects of fellow students, and much more!

Curriculum plans, dining hall food orders, new hires, updated school supplies, new technology like a school kiosk, event itinerary, and budget plans all need to be laid out and ready to go soon. The incoming freshman class will soon be anxiously bursting through the doors. The better your education resources are to help them along, the smoother the process will be for everyone. Using student kiosks is one way to more efficiently manage tasks that burden staff and frustrate students.

At the beginning of the new school year, some schools will give their students a thick information packet of papers and forms, and corral them into long lines for administrative processing. If only there was a better way to make some of these necessary tasks more efficient and less of a bottleneck. Well, how about letting them serve themselves?

The schools that have discovered the advantages of student kiosks and self service on campus will be maximizing their resources while providing better service overall! Educational institutions of all levels, particularly colleges and universities are providing state-of-the-art school kiosks in their dining halls, dorms, and academic buildings. These self serve student kiosks provide students with registration tools, academic information, wayfinding tools, event calendars, printing and scanning access, mental health screenings, point of sale, campus security notifications and much more!

An unfortunate problem schools suffer nationwide is lowered student retention efforts. As a result, more and more students are leaving school and pursuing other options. Students claim these are the top reasons they chose to leave school.

A self service school kiosk is essentially a computer kiosk placed in a steel enclosure with software that allows for remote access to control administrative functions such as browser lockdown, menu options, whitelisting web links, immediate reports or alerts for kiosk tampering and usage, and remotely view and support the kiosk. The primary solutions a school kiosk can provide include:
