I know how to customize the ringtone on WhatsApp, however, when I try and customise the notification tone, the list to select from only includes the default Apple tones - i.e. Aurora to Synth and Bell to Xylophone. That's very frustrating. The custom ringtones I've made using garage band or uploaded aren't listed as options (which they are on the ringtone list)

There are a lot of apps for making custom ringtones (including Garageband), but none of them seem to be able to save these as "alert tones" (notification tones) in iOS, but rather just ringtones.

The problem with this is that most other apps that allow you to customize their notification sounds (e.g. Signal, Telegram, WhatsApp etc), only allow you to choose from the "alert tones" list in iOS, rather than the "ringtones" list, which makes this distinction critical indeed.

There a lots and lots of tutorials and apps online that claim to be able to install custom alert tones / notification tones, but every single one that I have found end up installing a custom "ringtone" after all. :-(

Method one requires that you install iTunes on a Windows computer. (I presume that there's a way to do this with an Apple computer as well, but it would probably be different because iTunes no longer exists as a discrete application for MacOS.) See -to-add-custom-ringtones-to-your-iphone/

Method two requires that you install GarageBand on your iPhone. You can either create a ringtone in GarageBand, or import an audio clip from the Files app, and then use the Share function to export it as a ringtonge. See -to-make-ringtone-garageband/

i'm very surprised as well, nobody seems to notice this was possible on Android but not on iOS, for YEARS!Ok i will add a detail that will blow your mind even more...On the Signal app on iOS, is possible to set your own custom notification sound, different for every single contact. Apparently Whatsapp and Telegram developers have no excuses

Need help customising your ringtone for WhatsApp on your Samsung Phone but not too sure where to start? Simply follow the below guide for step-by-step instructions. If you would like to learn how to customise your Notifications or Ringtone please check out our guide How to set a music file as a Notification Tone on my Samsung Phone for further support.

Please change your audio file format to .wav; now you give it a try to assign the ringtone. It will work! Since, I had this same issue when I tried to assign a ringtone in an .mp3 file. Then, I changed the .mp3 format to .wav format; it works!

Hi everyone! Thanks for the advice! after uninstalling, installing 2 or 3 times, checking all the settings, I found the problem, for some weird reason a few of my contacts (those that I used the most) had the a "custom notification ringtone" checked, when I un checked them in the individuals contact settings everything started to ring perfectly and just ones, with the right notification sound!

I configure on Whatsapp notifications , Notification tone and Ringtone.

Sometime later (there is no rule , it may be days but it may be in a matter of seconds) the defaults tones are restored.

Is there a way to fix this bug ? ( perhaps to delete all tones and left only my own stuff.

Is it possible that you had set 'Notification tone' and 'Ringtone' of your WhatsApp to 'Default ringtone' while some app then changed the 'Default notofication sound' & 'ringtone' in 'Settings - Sound' of your phone later?

Exactly. The worst change in all iOS 17. They also changed the vibration so all apps have the same vibration. I used to recognize apps via the vibration and I knew what is important and what is not only by the vibration. So now I am looking for a way to downgrade because notifications are the BASICS of the phone and they changed it without a chance to customise it back yourself. No thanks.

Dear Apple,After os17 update the notification sound has changed, liked other people are also mentioning and it is becoming very annoying and not able change it make situation more worst. It unnecessarily make us think that what compromise we can face without our consent in the upcoming updates !!

I have the KS8 which I believe is essentially the same as your 7Nx, and an iPhone 7. I have Notifications for Messages turned on, and the notification tone plays through the speakers and not the hearing aids. In the MFi screen I see there is an option to turn Ringtones on or off. Mine is on. It appears this only allows the phone ringtone, but not the message notification. I am on iOS 12.4.1.

If Apple does they have to give to ones of us that do not want it to not have it to our aids but to have it to our phones and or watch. I for one am very happy that the notifications are not longer going to my aids. It was very irritation to have phone calls interrupted by the notification, as it was to have TV streaming interrupted. Too my advised to just turn the notifications off, well that is not acceptable either. We what the notifications just not to our hearing aids.

He paired whit a Huawei Mate 20 X (Androind 10) and I have this trouble: during fitness or lost/connect mobile phone etc the ringtone working well, but when I receive a notification (gmail, whatsapp, facebook...) my watch just vibrates, whitout sound.

A large number of WhatsApp users reporting the incoming call notification is not working when iPhone is locked on the screen. Here, in this post, we are going to elaborate on the feasible solutions to fic WhatsApp call not ringing issue including WhatsApp call notifications not showing.

First of all, it is important to ensure that the iPhone is not in silent mode. The Ring/Silent switch is on the left side of your iPhone. In the Ring mode, you can hear ringtones and alerts, whereas when iPhone is in Silent mode, you can't hear any ringtones or alters. Therefore, make sure that your iPhone is in the ring mode.

Do Not Disturb is a minor setting and we advise checking it properly. If you enable Do Not Disturb (DND) in iPhone, you can't receive any kind of notification alert on your iPhone Screen, which can cause WhatsApp call does not ring when iPhone is locked. DND is to be turned on accidentally at the time of scrolling through your Control Centre. You can follow the steps below to check and disable the Do not disturb settings.

Please confirm that the three alert sorts of display notification are visible on the screen. These are the Lock Screen, Notification Center, Banners. Make sure that all these are enabled and checked. The most important thing is to make sure that the sound is enabled, either.

Your phone is probably constantly buzzing, beeping, and vibrating because of various alerts that pop up from other apps on your phone. It can be hard to know which alerts are coming from which apps. WhatsApp allows you to customize the notifications and alerts you receive, so it's easy to know who is contacting you without even having to look at their name. You can change the notifications and alerts for individual contacts, all messages, all group messages, and more that come through WhatsApp.

If you have a couple of people that you talk to all the time, or you are waiting for important information from someone, it may be useful to be able to tell the difference of their notifications from all the rest. You can set all of your WhatsApp contacts to have different notifications, which will make it easy to tell who is trying to get a hold of you without even glancing at your phone. You can customize the sound of messages or the ringtone.

Like most apps on the iPhone, notifications are a little different when you are actually in the app. If you are chatting with your friends or editing your contact list, you don't want to miss important notifications from people. You can customize these in-app notifications in WhatsApp with just a few simple taps on the screen.

There really needs to be a way to change the Ring Alarm notification sound (iOS App) that the alarm has been tripped and is going off. Exactly the same way you can change it for camera and sensor notifications. I would love to have that sound be as annoying as a siren so I take notice ASAP instead of the current non-changeable sound.

WhatsApp allows you to turn conversation tones for incoming and outgoing messages on or off. You can also choose to use high priority notifications on your Android phone. This shows previews of notifications at the top of your screen and can be used to disable peeking notifications.

Notification preferences can easily be managed in your WhatsApp settings. Check here the step-by-step guide for WhatsApp users to change the notification tone and per their choice. Here is how to change notification tone in WhatsApp:Launch WhatsApp on your phoneOpen an individual or group chatTap on the name of the individual or group chatNow tap on Custom notificationsThen check Use custom notifications. Here is how to reset your notifications settings in WhatsApp:Launch WhatsApp on your phoneNow tap on Settings and then tap on NotificationsThen tap on More options that appear as three dotsTap on reset notification settingsFinally, tap on RESET.

You can customize your ringtone for that specific contact who seems very important to you and you can not afford to miss a call or message from that person. Doing so will help you to identify who is calling or messaging even when you do not have your mobile in your hand. Note:

iPhone notifications are customizable for some apps, but there are notable exceptions. Customized ringtones and notification sounds help users easily identify a call or notification they receive on their phone. For example, using a different notification tone for Messages and Mail helps users identify which app they've received an alert from without even looking at their phone.

On iPhone, a user can customize notification sounds like text message tones, calendar alarms, and voicemail alerts. Users can also change notification tones for Apple-specific apps like FaceTime and Mail. However, users can't choose custom notification sounds for most third-party apps, which means the default notification sound is the only option they have for non-Apple apps. Most third-party apps just use the iPhone's default alert tone, while some have their own tones built into the apps. Users can, however, turn their notification sound on or off for third-party apps as needed. 006ab0faaa
