By default, Nagwin is configured to monitor your local machine. See following pages for some basic examples. Nagios configuration files are located at etc\nagios directory. Main configuration file nagios.cfg is configured to accept all configuration files in the subdirectory nagwin. Consult available Nagios documentation to move forward and extend your implementation. Nagwin 2.0.0 is the first Nagwin package containing Nagios Core 4 binaries (4.0.2). As in earlier releases, we had to patch Nagios Core to handle external commands via a plain file based scheme, rather than pipes. In addition, all Nagwin services are now started by a new developed nagwin_service tool, solving some other challenges with the new process structure in Core 4. Nagwin 2.0.0 delivers Pnp4Nagios in bulk mode rather than the standard synchronous one, bringing performance gains for performance collection.

Existing customers can download the latest version from their customer pages at www.itefix.net, and can upgrade their existing installation by simply running the installer even if it is a major upgrade. Well it would involve installing all of the components that are free individually and configuring them, but in my opinion that is no better and possibly worse than trying to swing it in Linux. Mainly because it isn't all native to Windows, and from what i can find there does not appear to be any sort of how to to get it up and running on Windows outside of the nagwin method. Please bear with me as I am new to this program and it's Linux based commands/file paths. I have installed Nagwin 1.3.0, the free version, on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine. I have also installed winrpe 2.12 on a Windows Server 2003 machine within the same subnet. Thank you for the reply. The primary reason I decided to go with nagwin instead of nagios running natively on a Linux box is its ability to be managed and configured using a windows interface. A couple of my co workers would prefer this setup vs Linux.

However, I personally would like to run nagios instead of nagwin ...and if I can make it where management and administration can be done efficiently and quickly through a GUI, I think I could sell it to the rest of my coworkers.
