This is out of my wheel house, so this is going to be pretty simple. I'm just grabbing links to the various monsters. Feel free to tag me if you add more so I can update the main post, if I missed your post, please also bring it to my attention so I can add it to the main post. I've also included some threads that are quandries for help building a particular encounter, I've designated them with the term "Crafting" in the link so those are possibly incomplete or need to read the responses to get the full monster.

Note that I'm simply starting at the front page at the time of this thread, these aren't listed in any form of order of CR or any type of ranking. All credit goes to the original posters of the monsters of which I'll be linking to their posts.

Capturing monsters is a staple strategy in the Monster Hunter series, and it's no different in Monster Hunter Rise. This page covers how to capture a monster, and why to capture monsters in Monster Hunter Rise.

If the monster escapes, it will be heading off to go to sleep in its den. Lay a trap under it as it sleeps and throw tranq bombs at its face. Wake it up, and it will fall into the trap and immediately be captured.

Capturing a monster shaves off a few minutes from your quest, which is helpful. However, if you're after a particular material, check your Hunter's Notes (or that Monster's page in this wiki if you haven't unlocked it) to see the best way to acquire it - some are easier to get when slaying and carving, others by capturing!

Some monster materials require you to break parts - so if you haven't broken that particular part even though it's ready for capture, consider holding off. Alternatively, some of the rarest monster materials are easier to acquire when capturing. Other rare materials may be easier to acquire when slaying and carving, though!

Super Monster Run is a fun casual game where you catch monsters and level them up for battle at the end of each round. How do I make a DnD 5th edition "Catch the monster" tabletop encounter properly challenging for the PCs? Specifically, what are good ways to thematically prevent a pair of level 6, 5th edition rogues from winning a game of "tag" with a monster? I'm envisioning having other monsters provide cover for the fleeing creature, what else could be done?

Based on how you worded this scenario, you're looking to build a tightly-timed race with a monster as the only way to successfully disengage from combat, with the PCs having only three rounds to catch the necessary object while in motion. Three rounds isn't a lot of time, and as Trish noted in the comments, this can go a bunch of ways depending on party spec.

a problem I see with this are the differences in speed - especially the Tabaxi rogue: with a base speed of 30, and the cunning action, both of the rogues have the ability to move faster than the hook horror, which does not have cunning action. Furthermore, the Tabaxi's racial trait allows him/her to double their speed temporarily, practically allowing him/her to catch up immediately. My suggestion would be to integrate the hook horror's climbing speed (30) as opposed to the tabaxi's (20), perhaps in conjunction with the mind flayer's (at will) levitate - which could assist the hook horror. Since the encounter occurs in a ruined courtyard, you could also potentially have the ground be unstable, so running recklessly after the hook horror could cause the floor to cave in, leading to a separate area of the map. You could even have areas of the fortified courtyard be of wood, so the warlock could hinder the hook horror by burning places down.

Curieping can change the size of anything with her magnifying glass. She impresses Giggleping by turning a rabbit into a giant monster, and the three of them travel around Harmony Town! Can Romi stop this madness?

He & Raymond try to catch it for themselves, with Dylan ordering Raymond to get it for him. Curieping watches on and feels bad for the rabbit. Giggleping encourages her to remedy the situation by turning the rabbit really big!

With Giggleping down, the Royal Teeniepings chase down Curieping and this gives Romi the time to catch Curieping successfully! With Curieping caught, Giggleping escapes again and the spells are reversed, turning Romi back to her normal size. The rabbit from earlier even nuzzles up to Romi! But Dylan & Raymond are less than endeared to the rabbit after they were chased down by it, and run away when they see Romi carry it, much to her confusion...

The second season of River Monsters began airing on 24 April 2010, although the first episode, titled "Demon Fish" first appeared on Discovery Channel on 28 March 2010. In the episode, "Death Ray", Wade caught a pregnant giant freshwater stingray, the largest fish he ever landed. She later gave birth to two pups while being examined by Wade and a team of biologists. After hearing reports of fishermen disappearing in the Zambezi River in Zambia, Jeremy Wade journeys there to uncover the truth behind their deaths. He hears tales of a man getting pulled in and drowning in the rapids after hooking into a monster fish. The natives believe it to be the work of a large, serpentine fish the size of a man. They also tell Wade of a snakelike river spirit called Nyaminyami, who is angry at the Kariba Dam for blocking its river. Believing Nyaminyami to be inspired from the killer fish, he travels to Lake Kariba to find the beast. After nearly being capsized in a storm, Jeremy hears reports of small toddlers and children being eaten by the fish, known locally as "Mazunda," as well as a fisherman being dragged to the depths beneath the dam. Interviewing a witness of the "Mazunda," Wade learns of the vundu catfish, southern Africa's largest fish. Travelling all over the Zambezi, Jeremy gains access to the prohibited waters directly beneath the dam, where he finally hooks into a monster.

Jeremy Wade's journey into extreme fishing started in India, where he caught large mahseer, and where he later caught a massive goonch that had been killing bathers. Now, he returns following reports of a new predator, capable of taking pets and small children. Looking around, he uncovers its identity: the sareng catfish, a streamlined predator with long jaws and sharp teeth. He also finds a problem: the sareng is sacred in India's Hindu religion and harming it is believed to curse you with bad luck. Almost immediately he encounters problems when the lake where he is fishing is closed and tries his luck in the wilderness of Corbett National Park, sharing the territory with man-eating tigers and wild elephants. The monsoon comes early and the fish are not biting, forcing him to leave the river. To escape what appears to be the wrath of the gods, he travels to Thailand to a lake inhabited by sareng, as well as countless other introduced river monsters. Despite not being a Hindu country, Thailand offers no protection from the gods as Jeremy seemingly catches every fish, especially red-tailed catfish, in the lake but the sareng. Deciding to face his demons instead of running from them, he returns to India to take part in a Hindu blessing, to appease the gods and convince them he means the fish no harm. Returning to the river, Jeremy finds he might have finally met his match.

Wade learns of a series of attacks on swimmers in Lake Champlain and sets off to uncover the truth. After discovering countless fish in the lake bearing the signs of this ancient predator, he learns from a victim that the attacker is the sea lamprey. Unable to catch the fish using a rod and line, Wade offers himself as bait to test the lampreys' abilities and then travels to the Pacific Northwest to catch lamprey by hand with a native tribe. 9af72c28ce
