Hi everyone, it has been a dream since I was in high school to own season tickets to the Capitals. I thought this essentially could never happen, as I have always lived 2+ hours away. Well, fast forward to 2021, and I am now a local! My girlfriend and I love DC sports and would love to get in on the action.

I want honest opinions. If you are diligent about listing your tickets for sale on the resale sites, are you likely to be close to breaking even if you sell about half of your tickets? I would have 2.

The No. 4 South Mountain Community College softball team (45-8, 39-5 ACCAC) defeated Eastern Arizona 3-2 and 17-14 in an ACCAC road doubleheader on April 25 in Thatcher, Ariz. Sophomore Anisa Reynolds blasted her 24th home run and escaped a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh to earn the win in game one. In the second game, the Cougars got home runs from freshmen Halle Hogan and Sarah Potter, and Reynolds wiggled out of another bases-loaded jam in the seventh to record the save.

SMCC tacked on single runs in the first, fifth and seventh and held off a Gila Monsters rally in the seventh to post the 3-2 victory. Reynolds improved to 16-3 on the season with a complete-game performance. She struck out three and allowed nine hits, three walks and one earned run over seven innings.

Reynolds helped her cause at the plate with her 24th home run and 73rd RBI of the season. Freshman Brianna Garcia had an RBI double in the first inning that scored sophomore Makaiya Gomez, and freshman Mia Franco delivered an RBI single to score Hogan in the seventh.

The second game featured an offensive barrage from both teams, with SMCC outlasting EAC over the seven frames. The Cougars led 12-4 in the bottom of the fifth, but the Gila Monsters scored six to extend the game.

After SMCC posted four in the sixth and one in the seventh, EAC mounted a rally that produced four runs and loaded the bases with one out. Reynolds got a strikeout and a groundout to end the game and record her first save.

While the early departure from postseason play felt disappointing in the moment, the momentum leading up to the Western Conference Semifinals is something the team hopes to carry over into next season.

The coaching staff are depending on the veteran players to continue their own impact within the team, but also the younger players, who had a solid year of development, to play a larger role next season.

Sophomore Jaelyn Olsen (Bethany, Okla./Putnam City West HS) won the vault and balance beam and senior Megan Melendez (Stafford, Va./North Stafford HS) claimed the uneven parallel bars Friday night to lead the Northern Illinois University gymnastics team to a 192.050-188.825 win over Ball State t the NIU Convocation Center.

Olsen paced the Huskies on vault and balance beam as she scored a 9.775 on vault and recorded a career-best 9.700 to win beam. Melendez won bars with a 9.725 despite suffering an injury early in the meet that forced her out of the balance beam event.

In her absence, freshman Courtney Dowdell (Lynwood, Ill./T.F. South HS) stepped in as an all-arounder for the first time. Dowdell took second on vault with a season-best 9.700, tied for third on uneven parallel bars with a 9.675 and tied for fourth on floor with a 9.650.

Senior Kim Gotlund (Wadsworth, Ill./Warren Township HS) won the all-around with a season-high 38.600. She was second on floor exercise (9.700) and balance beam (9.675) and tied for third on bars (9.675).

The holiday season sparks conflicting feelings as over two in five U.S. adults (43%) would use both positive and negative words to describe the holidays, and 72% agree that the holiday season can feel bittersweet. Four in five adults (80%) would describe the holidays in positive terms such as fun (50%), joyous (49%), or exciting (45%), while 63% would use negative words such as stressful (40%), overwhelming or exhausting (34% each).

Fewer adults said they turn to negative or potentially harmful coping mechanisms during the holiday season. Close to two in five adults who experience stress during the holiday season (38%) said they use negative coping mechanisms such as isolating themselves (21%), changing their eating habits by overeating or restricting their diets (16%), or relying on substances such as alcohol or nicotine to feel better (13%).

Overall, though, a majority of U.S. adults agreed that the holiday season can be a positive experience. Nearly seven in 10 (69%) agreed that the stress surrounding the holidays is worth it, and 84% said the holiday season creates a sense of togetherness.

Thank you for your words of wisdom! I have been through the single and engaged seasons begging for the next one to hurry up. Now happily married praying for my husband to agree we need babies this instant. Lol but in all seriousness, reading through these words made me bawl my eyes out. Thank you for the vulnerability and insightful blog.

Hunters killed close to 222,800 deer in the 2009 season, virtually the same number as was harvested statewide the previous season. Also a good sign from the New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation annual deer hunting report was that nearly 16,000 14- and 15-year-olds signed up for the Junior Big-Game License.

The 2009 deer take included more than 120,700 antlerless deer and just over 102,000 adult bucks. The antlerless take grew by 3 percent from 2008 while the buck harvest dropped 3.5 percent from 2008. Totals for bow and muzzleloader seasons were on par with the past few years.

The DEC says the deer kill during the regular season seemed strongly affected by a warm November. The lack of snow cover made for difficult hunting conditions during a time that typically accounts for the majority of the deer harvest.

The Saltwater Fishing Expo, that will run Friday through Sunday at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, N.J., should help you get ready for the coming season which begins just a few weeks from now.

Yea the other problem right now is, this PVP event was made without layering in mind but because players demanded it due lag and tagging mobs issues it was enabled since the start for all zones not just PVP.

Many of these schemes peak during filing season as people prepare their tax returns. In reality, these scams can occur throughout the year as fraudsters look for ways to steal money, personal information, data and more.

Working together as the Security Summit, the IRS, state tax agencies and the nation's tax industry, including tax professionals, have taken numerous steps since 2015 to warn people about common scams and schemes during tax season and beyond that can increase the risk of identity theft. The Security Summit initiative is committed to protecting taxpayers, businesses and the tax system from scammers and identity thieves.

Second, many nonprofits actually prefer for donors to set up automatic monthly donations, even in very small amounts, rather than giving a lump sum at the end of the year. The automatic donation from your bank account or credit card means they can plan for how to spend those funds in advance, which often helps them save money and resources.

As the holiday season approaches, the Grover Beach Community Services program is preparing a series of joyful and cheerful events for the whole community. Exciting events include the Holiday Parade, Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration and Holiday of Lights Decorating Competition. Residents and visitors are invited to participate in the family-friendly festivities.

I wrote a post three years ago about my struggles with seasonal affective disorder (SAD). I absolutely still struggle with SAD, but since then, I have taught myself different techniques which help me enjoy the season with my family as best as I can, while still hating winter.

Along with winter, Christmas can be quite stressful. However, I cannot dispute the joy it gives my kids and the cozy memories the season makes for the family. So, I embrace all of the Christmas activities. I will reluctantly put on the layers (I greatly dislike wearing layers, jackets, and closed-toe shoes), and go out and enjoy lights at the zoo, drive to see the Christmas lights at Rock City, or take the North Pole Limited at the Tennessee Valley Railroad. I get over being cold for these amazing memories with my kids.
