Firefox was created by Mozilla as a faster, more private alternative to browsers like Internet Explorer, and now Chrome. Today, our mission-driven company and volunteer community continue to put your privacy above all else.

The technology for extensions in Firefox is, to a large extent, compatible with the extension API supported by Chromium-based browsers (such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Vivaldi). In most cases, extensions written for Chromium-based browsers run in Firefox with just a few changes.

Getting annoyed with "Your Firefox Browser is out of date" notification that hijacks the browser page every time I open Firefox. If I wanted to update I would! I do not want to update. I want to remain on the version I have so HOW DO I STOP the annoying notification alert every time I open a browser window ...to which I have been selecting. "No thanks, I will risk it". I do not want this box popping up anymore. It seems like a bullying form of forcing something on someone.

Hi Tyler,Thanks for the quick reply. To your question: Is there a reason you don't want to update? The short answer to this is an old saying that I often live by: If it ain't broken, don't fix it.Often more times than not when I have upgraded in the past whether it was my browser, Media Player, or other programs what usully happens is the format, the overall look of the program that one has got used to changes a fair bit. In other cases some aspects of the new upgraded program become intrusive, annoying or impaired. When someone gets used to the layout and look and feel of a program, changing it all around is a negative and makes it hard to navigate and learn all over and frankly, I have never had a security issue thus far with my Malware and Virus protection.

Hi Tyler,Well I just went to Tools- Options- Advanced and low and behold all three boxes are UNCHECKED I am still being hassled by a drop down box telling me my browser is out of date. Here is the drop down box that haunts me now every time I open a new browser window:

After downloading and installing that, then I would suggest using a resource like -firefox-4-look-like-ff-3-6/, which will help you customize Firefox to look and behave just like firefox 3.6, but with all the new security fixes (Just so you know, by not updating, you are vulnerable to almost all of the security holes listed at -vulnerabilities/firefox.html, and more).

With the new theme and customization (which shouldn't take very long to do) you should be all set. I know getting used to a new look and feel is difficult, fortunately that is the beauty of firefox, you can make it behave and look how you want it to. But, just not upgrading because "it isn't broken" don't work here, because unfortunately, Firefox 3.6.6 is broken due to security issues, crashes, speed and web standards support :(

I am also annoyed by the notification of "Your Firefox Browser is out of date" that hijacks the browser page every time I open Firefox. As a matter of fact, I had to downgrade Firefox to the version 3.6 because it is the only one compatible with the RealPlayer plugin that allow me to download content from youtube easier than any of the all other junk out there

This whole Firefox is annoying my concept of ownership of my own computer, I can't be wasting time on annoyances every time I open my browser - if that's Firefox policy, it has something in common with ie

I am older than DOS and I can tell you, there is no such thin as a browser that is also a firewall and antivirus and wipe your back at the same time - if so, just delete your antivirus and install the new version of everything (yeah right)

I think that it is about the time to seek for another browser that is just a browser and let my firewall to be the firewall and my antivirus to take care of the viruses - trend micro proxy also prevent me from accidentally accessing malicious web sites

Actually, if you do upgrade to Firefox 12, and can't get it to work, you can downgrade to 3.6 -US/firefox/all-older.html has the installers. Please note this isn't supported at all due to security issues.

Yeah...this is annoying me. I hated when I upgraded from 2 to 3 because it broke all of my plugins...I don't want to break all of my plugins from firefox 3 Mozilla! What about that do you not understand??

A note about site passwords: If you use the Firefox Password Manager option, your saved passwords are not usually deleted when you clear your browser history of cookies and cache. However, to use Password Manager, you cannot also have the History setting Clear history when Firefox closes. You must instead use custom History settings (see below link).

While you should clear your web browser's cache, cookies, and history periodically in order to prevent or resolve performance problems, you may wish to record some of your saved information first. If you are unable to do so, see Troubleshooting alternatives below.

If you don't see instructions below for your specific version or browser, search your browser's Help menu for "clear cache". If you're unsure what browser version you're using, from the Help menu or your browser's menu, select About [browser name]. In Firefox, if you don't see the menu bar, press Alt.

If you need to clear your cache, cookies, and history for troubleshooting purposes, but aren't yet prepared to lose the content listed above, you may wish to consider using a private browsing window in your preferred browser as a temporary solution:

The steps to clear your cache, cookies, and history may differ depending on the model of your Android device and your preferred browser, but you should be able to clear your cache and data from your application management settings menu:

For sure there is some bugs, in all browsers and platforms. Does any other ios browsers support cookie banners? I do see value in that feature, but it also depends on other features to be implemented.

I am so tired. I have battled with ongoing issues with Brave for over a year with lack of specific cookie deletion and for 8+ months with SyncV2 issues. Every month the support venues are flooded with people complaining about BAT payout issues yet those of us who could not care less about BAT or crypto and simply want a browser that functions properly are languishing. This is extremely frustrating when I know there are other Chromium based browsers that have not of the sync issues nor cookie deletion.

And of course I could use Brave without the rewards. But this is not my point. 90 % or so of all support resources here in the forum are dedicated to some crypto stuff. These resources are not free to be used for real browser support then.

Mozilla Firefox is a free web browser for Windows and Mac operating systems. Launched by the Mozilla Foundation in 2003, the open-source program has undergone several name changes, face-lifts, and updates to become the class software it is today.

Initially running on 32-bit systems, Mozilla Firefox updated to a 64-bit MSI package for Windows in 2016. The main advantages include improved download protection, process separation, and specific customizations on the web browser. While you can use the interface bar like a search engine, Google appears as the default.

Finding the best web browser that suits your needs can be a game-changer. Mozilla Firefox is a reliable choice, but let's also explore some noteworthy alternatives that cater to specific preferences and requirements.

While Mozilla Firefox is a reliable option, exploring alternatives like Opera GX, Google Chrome Enterprise, and Brave allows you to find a browser that aligns with your specific needs. Whether it's gaming features, business-focused tools, or a focus on speed and security, each alternative brings something unique to the table. Take your time to explore and choose the web browser that complements your digital journey.

Mozilla Firefox has come a long way from its days as Phoenix and Firebird. It has strong safety systems in place to protect your privacy and passwords, claiming the title as the most secure browser in 2019. You can also access additional tools and settings with a registered account.

Of all its features, its performance stands out above the rest. The speed is a result of needing fewer resources, unlike other browsers, giving you a better experience. It also hosts several new updates, such as blocked cryptominers notifications, improved alerts, and Extended Support Release upgrades.

The latest Firefox update, version 113.0, introduces a significant improvement to the Picture-in-Picture feature. Users can now rewind, check video duration, and switch to full-screen mode with ease on the most popular video websites. This enhancement provides a smoother and more enjoyable video-watching experience within the browser. e24fc04721
