Assuming you are running 64bit windows, copy ReShade64.dll to the FortniteGame Win64 subfolder; the exact location depends on where you install, in my case it is G:\Epic\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64

Note 1: Initial search results suggested taking the native C:\Windows\system32\dxgi.dll and copying it to the Fortnite Win64 folders. You can try this if you like, but when I did this the error continued and EasyAntiCheat would flash a notice about an untrusted system file (or some-such)

Note 2: I'm not sure that d3d11.dll is necessary, nor copying to the Engine subfolder. After I created dxgi.dll from Reshade per the instructions and tried to launch Fortnite, I got another entry point error for "D3D11CreateDevice" for that dll. After I made d3d11.dll the game would run; however, after successfully launching I tried to rename all the created DLLs (but dxgi.dll in the FortniteGame subfolder) and it would still run\_ ()_/

Note 5: Again from results when I went searching, it may be possible that the dxgi.dll/d3d11.dll created in Step 6/7 can instead be placed in the root /Fortnite/ (not any Win64 subfolders) and still work. I did not try this myself, but it may be a simpler alternative to try

dxgi.dll is part of the Windows OS. The problem appears to be that Dorico 4 is asking for DirectX 12 support, which is not supported on Windows 7 - see this thread on the Qt forum. I cannot see Steinberg reverting this decision - the system requirements are Windows 10 (21H2 or later) and Windows 11 (21H2 or later). Windows 7 has been out of extended support for two years tomorrow. Why compromise video performance and efficiency for the sake of an obsolete OS?

How resolve this issue with dxgi.dll? I originally thought issue was related to Desktop Window Manager (dwm.exe). However, after trying run a System File Check, I got similar error related to dxgi.dll. I know the issue is related to this file. How do I fix this issue? I tried replacing the DLL file from one found online. However, system32 folder locks up, in both normal start up and safe mode, when searching for dxgi.dll in the folder or scrolling down to it and clicking on it.

The dxgi.dll error message could apply to any program or system that might utilize the file on any of Microsoft's operating systems including Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 2000.

Do not download dxgi.dll from a DLL download site. There are many reasons why downloading a DLL file like that is a bad idea. If you need a copy of this file, it's best to obtain it from its original, legitimate source.

To be clear, all the data on the drive you have Windows installed on will be deleted during this step, so be sure to back up important files if you're able to. Obviously, make sure you've made every attempt possible to fix the dxgi.dll error using a troubleshooting step prior to this one before you take on a clean installation.

I am experiencing the same issue here, also using windows 7 64 sp1. It is not just occurring on startup of the Editor, but the bug also shows up in anything I bake and run, so this could be a show stopper for windows 7 64 sp1 developers?

So I have Beamng.Drive manually added to Lutris and it runs pretty crap without DXVK enabled. When I go configure to enable DXVK 0.92 or any other version an error message pops up saying No such file or directory: '/home/TheGermanEngie/.local/share/lutris/runtime/dxvk/0.xx/x64/dxgi.dll' -> 'drive_c/windows/system32/dxgi.dll'.

The dxgi.dll file, also known as the DirectX Graphics Infrastructure file, is a Dynamic-link library file that is present in Windows by default. It typically works to ensure that the programs installed on the computer are working properly, but it can also sometimes cause issues in the system.

The simplest way to fix the problem is by restoring the missing dxgi.dll file. We recommend checking your recycle bin for this file and restoring it from there, as there is a good chance you or someone else accidentally deleted the file.

Another way to restore the dxgi.dll file is by copying it from a backup folder. If you use backup software to keep your Windows backed up at all times, you can simply go back in your archives and pick out the dxgi.dll file.

The next thing you can try doing is running a system scan to check the integrity of the file itself and identify any potential corruption errors or malware that may be preventing the dxgi.dll file from functioning properly.

The dxgi.dll file in Windows can go missing for a number of reasons, including corrupted or missing system files and issues with DirectX. Fortunately, fixing this issue is quite easy, and the methods listed above should help you restore the file for good in no time.

If your graphics card driver is out of date, you may have multiple game-related issues, including the notorious dxgi.dll error code. So, the first thing you should do when troubleshooting that error is to ensure that your graphics card driver is up to date. The easiest way to do that is by using Auslogics Driver Updater because this tool can update all your drivers to their manufacturer-recommended versions with just one click. This saves your time and effort and helps you avoid installing something wrong and therefore harming your PC.

I will however spin up the virtual machine again and play around with Server Core 2016 more for testing and feed back for anyone else that has this problem and I will try your suggestion of using powershell locally to install the Media-Foundation instead. I may end up switching back to using Server Core for Emby if I can resolve this matter as it's my understanding that Emby was natively developed for the windows platform over a linux based one. Are windows and Linux platforms at such stage in development that they are essentially the same and maintained as frequently to be of not worth comparing by and would it just come down to user knowledge and preference of the operating system?

Apologies for resurrecting this thread, however this may help someone. I just tried to upgrade to 3.3.0.0 and I got a pop-up warning me that another DLL is now required - dxgi.dll. I copied it straight from my Windows 10 machine to the /system32 folder on my Server 2016 Hyper-V machine and the installer completed successfully.

I'm trying to use ENB with my Skyrim SE but the problem is if I put d3d11.dll in my Skyrim SE's root folder (the one with SkyrimSE.exe and SkyrimSELauncher.exe), the game will CTD immediately after skse64_loader started. It doesn't even make it to the main menu. The same thing happens with ReShade (dxgi.dll). If I rename the d3d11.dll or dxgi.dll to something else, for example d3d11backup.dll, or move the .dll to somewhere else or delete it, the game starts just fine. I can play for hours with SKSE64 and a lot of mods without stuttering or crashing. But as long as d3dll.dll or dxgi.dll is in the root folder, the game will always CTD.

Little update. I've tried local redirection with Windows 7 Direct X files. In short nothing has changed. Windows 8.0 does not work either. New COD black ops game launched as an open beta and it does not work too. The D3D12.dll edited by @win32 does work in windows 7, but does not in Windows 8.1. I'm losing all hope and at the same time I'm really angry. The new COD actually crashes with error message (mind you it is not a Windows error report)

forget it. just realized there are no d3d12 binaries. Though I wonder what would happen if the DirectX graphics kernel was replaced with the one from W7 (dxgi.dll, dxgi.sys, etc.). I think if it works, then graphics drivers would work as on W7. Windows 10 beta/1507's files may also provide an opportunity.

I leave this game for a while and come up with something else. I finally found a game that uses this scheme. His name is Gluecksschwein and according to the description it is:

Unity implementation of the Bavarian card game "Schafkopf"

The game pages are on github

The game is in German and for 4 players so it is not very useful for me however with another versions of DxWnd that I tried the game crashes except dxwnd.2.05.84.dxgi.rar and v2_05_84_build.rar. The game probably does not use dxgi.dll directly, but via UnityPlayer.dll.

I hope I guessed it well and the game really belongs to this section of Dxgi.
