Hi, my dropbox app was working beforehand. I recently uggraded to Mac OS Ventura but now it's not working or syncing. I'm getting the error message "couldn't start dropbox" or sync. So I did the advanced reinstall (ran the terminal etc) and I'm still getting the same error message.

I have tried all the new links for dropbox downloads that you have given, they don't work for me. For what it is worth, if I used a different (TEST) user on my mac, I can successfully download and open the app, but not if I use my user account which is where have used the dropbox app in the past and where I need to work.

This is not an upgrade at all this is a massive headache and just caused me hours and hours of work to recreate several symbolic links and issues across multiple OS since I can no longer upgrade some of my computers. There is nothing here that is beneficial and should be called a downgrade. Seeing packages as folders is not something I want and is not a feature I can do that with right clicking already. Please explain yourselves a bit more because other applications allow this, and dropbox currently works without this "upgrade." This is one of your most lame releases yet.

Hi schmidtlap,

I have the same Problem in the german version and can't find any soulution about it... a few days before I did the dropbox-Update on my Macs and it's really hard that I can't use the folder panel to navigate! I can't unterstand that there was no problem before the update...

If I activate the function that bridge shows me every file, it works and show me the subfolders of the file path ([user]/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox), but that's not how I've worked all the years...

Additional information (e.g. StackTraces, related issues, screenshots, workarounds, etc.):

Will have no issues with the sync but will ask me to re-sync or allow access to dropbox almost every day/every other day

I tested to see if the DMG being downloaded was the problem and it looks like it might be. I replaced the dropbox URL in the script to uploaded file to JCDS server and used the URL generated from that to download from our Jamf cloud repo. The DMG mounted fine and installed correctly. Not ideal, but maybe it's something to do with Dropbox?

@KretZoR I am using your sctip during provisioning with depnotify and notice a pop up claiming :

Dropbox needs to change permissions for the Folder: /var/root/.dropbox

I understand the script is running as root and assume dropbox is trying to setup for Root user... but wondering if there is a way around this?

Yes, this is really unbelievable! And the only answer I got from support (since my license is expiring next 23.12) is that I have to decrypt all my files.

Not a hint if there will still be some sort of continuity beyond whether or not I personally want to migrate to dropbox.

I sincerely hope that, in the short term, we may learn of software similar to BoxCryptor to avoid having to opt for encryption software also tied to the cloud service provider.

A seminar attendee has moved a cloud recording (stored in my zoom account) to her dropbox. When I try to delete the recording from my Zoom cloud storage, I get a message that the recording will be deleted from her drop box. Can the dropbox version be preserved? I have Zoom 5.14.6 on an iMac with Ventura 13.3.1(a) ff782bc1db
