I'm trying to figure out if it is even possible to install this driver on Windows 10, manual .inf installing didn't work and ended up to be with a BSOD, in Windows 7 it's working fine, there are people reporting it to work but obviously not me.

The installer is a bit tricky and doesn't install properly for unknown reasons. It's saying is missing admin rights when its not.

It's a SiS 672 integrated graphics on a desktop, there is a guy on youtube with a laptop but its method doesn't work, any clues?

In fact I addressed this issue in the past with an NVIDIA GT 8800 but it's very power hungry, also it is an old system I use only as a server and it's pointless spending money over it, I just needed the graphics drivers for the sleep functionality in order to use Wake On Lan, guess I'll just shut down since WOL works anyway

The thing is: I formated this notebook. Made a Dual Boot (Win + Arch). Installation worked just fine, i have a fully functional Arch environment. But the problem is about Xorg. The Videoboard is a SiS Mirage 3 671/771, so I installed xf86-driver-sis and xf86-driver-sisusb with Shaman (Chakra + tools are installed as well). But if I update my xorg.conf to use any of them, the X11 won't start, returning "No screens found" error. Using VESA, weird stuff happens... Strange artifacts on screen, "choppy" moving/resizing windows...

Before formating the machine I checked Kubuntu's drivers and xorg.conf (made a copy of the last one), and Kubuntu was using "sis671" driver, and everything was working perfectly, including some (I repeat: SOME) of the Desktop Effects. Searching through the forum, I found two posts about this issue but nothing described there worked for me. Links for those posts:

Sis graphics driver on linux?

[Solved] Sis mirage3/sis 671

This last one says [Solved], but i couldn't find clear instructions on how the author did it. Apparently, installing this url's drivers worked for a lot of people, but I can't manage to install/compile/use them.

GDI supports a virtual desktop and provides the ability to replicate a portion of the virtual desktop on a mirror device. GDI implements the virtual desktop as a graphics layer above the physical display driver layer. All drawing operations start in this virtual desktop space; GDI clips and renders them on the appropriate physical display devices that exist in the virtual desktop.

GDI calls the mirror driver for any 2D graphics DDI drawing operation that intersects the driver's bounding rectangle. Note that GDI does not perform a bounding rectangle check if the surface is a device format bitmap; that is, if the SURFOBJ has an iType of STYPE_DEVBITMAP.

on my old laptop with SIS mirage 3 graphics card I installed opensuse 11.3 insted of 13.1 (my error ), and resolution seemed quite well (it should have been 1024x768), then I installed opensuse 13.1 and resolution is the 600x800.

how can I get better resolution ???

Couple of months a go someone mentioned that Apex Legends breaks AMD GPU drivers and the way to fix this is, uninstall Apex Legends, not install it again, use DDU to get rid of broken drivers properly and then install latest graphics drivers. 17dc91bb1f
