Clearing the cache partition on my S10 worked for me after nothing else did. However, it's not clear how to do this. I have Verizon, but their help article on clearing the cache wasn't helpful. I found detailed instructions on TMobile's site, and clearing the "cache partition" worked for me (after following the above instructions for installing the USB device drivers AND installing the Wireless Display option in Windows 10 - -install-uninstall-connect-wireless-display-feature-window... -mobile.com/support/devices/android/samsung-galaxy-s10/wipe-cache-partition-samsung-gal...

So the methods mentioned above didn't work for me. What worked for me was googling Samsung Galaxy Tab USB driver and downloading and running the application that got my device recognized when I did adb devices. Since I was using a Samsung Galaxy, I used this link to download the usb driver from the OFFICIAL Samsung site. You would want to google your own respective android model usb driver

I have a device listed in Device Manager "Samsung Android ADB Interface" with driver version "2.9.505.831" but no ADB.

I found instructions to add a device USB\VID_04E8&PID_6860&MI_00 however this did not match my phone, I needed to manually determine the device ID and add it myself before windows would let me install the drivers.

USB communications device class (or USB CDC) is a composite Universal Serial Bus device class. The class may include more than one interface, such as a custom control interface, data interface, audio, or mass storage related interfaces.

In its current state, with your phone connected as an MTP device, do you have any trouble transferring files or doing anything else you want to do with your phone from your PC? If you're not having trouble then it's possible the CDC Serial driver is only used for connecting your phone as a modem or serial device (as when communicating with your phone from the developer tool ADB). Smart phones and small touch screen enabled mobile devices are very popular today. Mobile devices are always with the user and have smaller screen sizes than desktop computers when comparing both the physical size and the resolution. In addition, nowadays mobile devices are often touch screen devices, where the user controls the device with his/her fingers. It is not possible to provide ready-made cross-smart space applications for all possible needs but it should be possible for a person entering to a smart space to compose an application matching his/her needs on-the-fly in his/her mobile device and then to execute the application via his/her mobile device. The programming-by-example [1], visual programming [2], script-based creation [3], repository-based creation [4], and tailoring of applications techniques [5] are introduced for end-user programming. Unfortunately, these techniques are not designed for end-user programming of cross-smart space applications. Furthermore, these techniques are not applicable for end-user programming that is performed in a small touch-screen enabled mobile device. Therefore we decided to develop a novel end-user programming approach for cross-smart space applications. 2351a5e196
