I am having the exact same issue - lights do not turn on with motion - I have called RING 3 times and it is frustrating - they keep telling me to factory reset (on the camera). My camera is mounted up very high and I hd to get the electrician to come back with his ladder to reset it. Tried htis yesterday and even through the motion was being recorded, the lights did not come on. I can manually turn them on and off, set a dusk to dawn schedule, but I want them motion activated. I am very frustrated, have read through all of these posts and nothing works

I can easily see this with a boolean variable and a switch in webcore. I do not use IFTTT so I cannot assist you there. BUT, my tuya lights are not visible to webcore, so it gets convoluted quickly. If your lights are visible to webcore, then I can assist further.

I think I need to create this override switch, and use an Alexa command for it. Then the missus can say the command when she goes to bed and I can repeat it (As she will often forget) before I go into the bedroom if I am up late.

Now I just need to read more and find some example code I can modify. The whole idea of using a virtual switch to turn on/off another virtual switch is confusing me, but as I have found with all ST things so far, something will eventually click with me.

Sorry, my error. I should have stated that it is when I enter the room, if another is already sleeping, that I do not want the main light to turn on. I have positioned the sensor so it does not target the bed.

Once I go to bed, we change the mode on the system from night to asleep (a custom mode that we added) and at that point if the motion sensor is triggered, the overhead light does not come on. Instead, a soft night light on the wall turns on. That keeps my dog from waking me up when he goes in and out of the room at night. Then at 7 a.m., the mode changes back to Day.

No. I use a combination of smart lighting and Automations for the most part. In smart lighting, at the bottom, you can tell Smartthings to not run the rule if a switch is on, or off, depending on how you set it up.

Thanks very much for this. I may end up using this. For now I do not have a contact sensor on the bedroom door (or anywhere else) as we usually do not close any doors (except on the rare occasion we have guests stay overnight). But this is something I think I must add (this whole ST automation thing is so addictive).

I started off with just wanting the lights to turn off. Then I found CoRE (now webCoRE) and I went absolutely crazy with adding all kinds of devices. My family was furious at first because things would turn off in the middle of them using it or a light turning on when it should remain dark. I quickly realized that I needed more checks and balances and went to using variables and contact sensors in order to zero in on if an automation should run or not based on if the room was occupied. I also added more motions for extra assurance.

Just a thought but if you set an additional boolean variable during the on automation you can use this boolean variable as a condition in the off automation to limit it from continuing if it was not set originally.

I solved this using Shelly module with switch in detached mode. So there is one automation that switches the light on/off when switch changes state to respectively and the second that controls light from motions sensor and uses state of physical switch as condition. E.g. if physical switch is in on state then motion sensor does not turn off the light. Different implementation, but logic is the same

Ok I re-read what you wrote. I misunderstood your suggestion, sorry. I see you mean to wait in the motion-light-on automation. Sure that might work. Waiting in automations for long periods of time is not best practice though.

Anyway, I have my kitchen sensor waiting an hour to get a 'motion clear" for the period of 35 seconds. It works flawless. I even have multiple automations that get triggered by this one motion sensor.

One that handles the speaker (follow me audio), another that handles the lights, a third that notifies my at motion when presence at home is 0. Never experienced/noticed one issue with it. And I am pretty keen on detecting automation failures

on the Xbox, there is no option to turn on the recognition and position lights in the F/A 18. When these switches are clicked inside the cockpit, the only option I get is to adjust the brightness for them, that is it.

As I said Dim setting for the strobe will sometimes work. But this is not consistent, such as a time I activated the strobe to dim then set it to normal at which point the light cut out. From here no matter what action I took I no longer had strobe lights.

I purchased the TP link switch for my apartment and got it installed correctly, however none of the other lights (that have the dumb switch) in that section of my house will turn for some unknown reason. The orginal dumb switch was connected with 3 and there was a white ground wire in the back. I know i've wired everything correctly as the light turns on and works but I have not the faintest clue why the other lights don't work. I've searched the entire web and no good answers have come up. Any help would be amazing!

@ThisGeekRyan Sounds like you didn't keep all of the black line wires together, only the black load wire to the light should be separate on the switch. The other blacks go on to send power to the other switches in your apartment.

My desktop computer (Zotac 8200 motherboard) has a problem when I put it into standby mode. I use Windows 7 to put it into standby. The cpu fan, system fan, and PSU fan don't turn off. Nor does the power light in the front of the computer. I can't find any settings in the BIOS that all me to control this strange behavior. The computer can resume successfully from standby so it isn't froozen. What can I do? Thanks

and by shutdown I mean QUIET. no fans or blinky lights... this new feature called hibernate ha doesn't sound like it. as for sleep if they meant shut off the monitor and keyboard / mouse lights. that works great. all these configurations can be implemented through our complicated options tabs via desktop gui or bios. but turn off the fans = hold down power button for 4+ seconds on all atx cases. DONE. magic... tools.

Hello everyone,

@Yoda007, thanks for helping.

@Dscottnm, please answer the following: were the lights working before? If yes, when did the issue start? What's the manufacturer of your smart lights?

If you haven't already, please try to unlink and relink your smart lights from the Google Home app. Here's how: open the app > Tap the Settings > Look for Works with Google > Select the light manufacturer > Unlink. Do the same steps to relink your devices. Once done, ask your Google Nest Mini to 'sync the lights' and then confirm if you can now control them via voice command.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Lovely

Hello Lovely. I have already tried that, as it was suggested by another user. It worked for a time or two, then went back to saying "Sorry, I don't understand" again. Each time I change something, such as changing the language, renaming the smart plug, removing and readding the smart plug, etc., it may work for a time or two and then it stops working again. Sometimes I can turn a light on but when I try to turn the same light off minutes later I get the error. I would really like to know if this is a Wyze issue rather than a Google issue, but I don't think it is because I have heard other people say that their Nest gives the same "Sorry, I don't understand" response when using other types of voice commands such as playing music which would not involve a Wyze device.

Product: The Sims 4

Platform:Xbox Series X

Which language are you playing the game in? Deutsch

How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)

What is your current game version number? 1.42.9.2300

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I moved to hew hose and placed lamps from my inventory. When I move lights they sometimes go out. When I put them back to inventory and place them again they are on. Now after I used auto lights for every light they stop responding. A few are out and a few on and commands to enable / disable a light don't work anymore. The round paper light got a light hue when enabled but the room is completely dark.

What happens when the bug occurs? Lights don't work as expected.

What do you expect to see? Light should turn off in empty rooms and turn on when a dim is present. Lights should change state after setting on/off state.

Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I don't work or have any association with EA. I give advice to the best of my knowledge and cannot be held responsible for any damage done to your computer/game.

Please only contact me via PM when asked to do so.

This only seems to affect lights that I place outdoors, and when I click for them to turn on, the item itself lights up as if it is on, but no light actually emits from the light itself, meaning the outdoor area is still dark during the night. I have had this issue happen once to an indoor light also but have only seen it happen during one play through. 152ee80cbc
