NOTE: The codeblocks-20.03-setup.exe file includes Code::Blocks with all plugins. The codeblocks-20.03-setup-nonadmin.exe file is provided for convenience to users that do not have administrator rights on their machine(s).

The mingw32-gcc.exe step is the compile step. The mingw32-g++.exe is the link step. Thisis the correct sequence and will work if your mingw32 installation is "normal" and correct - where "normal" meansyou have installed the C++ as well as the C tools.

The link step is failing for you because mingw32-g++.exe cannot be executed, most likely becauseit does not exist on your PATH. Try running mingw32-g++.exe at the command prompt to check.Look in the directory where mingw32-gcc.exe resides to see if mingw32-g++.exe is also there.

Both mingw32-gcc.exe and mingw32-g++.exe are just tool driver programs. When invokedwith compilation options for .c files, mingw32-gcc.exe invokes the C compiler. When invokedwith compilation options for .cpp|cxx|... files, mingw32-g++.exe invokes the C++ compiler. Ifeither of them is invoked with linkage options then it invokes the linker.

Firstly uninstall the codeblocks if you can't get something right. Move to codeblocks official site to download its minw.exe version so that you have a proper compiler for all of your C programs. After installing go to Setting>Compiler>GNU GCC compiler.Move to Toolchain Executables>.Now set Compilers Installation Directory. Most probably it's C:\Program Files\CodeBlocks\MinGW\bin. Now you have to select and locate your C compiler as it is in the above mentioned directory. After that rebulid and run your program.

CodeBlocks is an open-source, cross-platform (Windows, Linux, MacOS), and free C/C++ IDE. It supports many compilers, such as GNU GCC (MinGW and Cygwin) and MS Visual C++. It supports interactive debugging (via GNU GDB or MS CDB). CodeBlocks is surprisingly versatile, and in my opinion, much better than the Visual Studio suite. The mother site of CodeBlocks is www.codeblocks.org.

Goto Click "Download the binary release". Select your operating platform (e.g., Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7). Download the installer with GCC Compiler, e.g., codeblocks-13.12mingw-setup.exe (98 MB) (which includes MinGW's GNU GCC compiler and GNU GDB debugger).

I have downloaded CodeBlocks 17.02 without mingw and installed it, then I downloaded MinGW64 from here( -w64.org/doku.php/download) and only changed the architecture option from i686 to x86_64 during the installation and left the rest as default. Then tried to add this path to system paths: C:\Program Files\mingw-w64\x86_64-8.1.0-posix-seh-rt_v6-rev0\mingw64\x86_64-w64-mingw32\bin. But when I opened the CodeBlocks, it couldn't find the compiler. Also when I go to settings>compiler and try to set GNU GCC compiler it says: can not find the compiler!

Download Code::Blocks and mingw-w64 from it's download page, the file name will be like 'codeblocks-17.12-nosetup.zip' and 'x86_64-8.1.0-release-posix-seh-rt_v6-rev0.7z' respectively. The mingw-w64 file may be with seh or sjlj Extract those in any drive or any folder with 7zip. For example, here I choose E:\CodeBlocks and E:\mingw64.

Open CodeBlocks.exe from that extraction folder. There will be a warning like 'No compiler found'. Go to Settings > Compiler > Global Compiler Settings > Toolchain executables > Compiler's Installation Directory. Make sure GCC is default compiler. Choose the extraction folder of mingw-w64 (here E:\mingw64). Then select the compiler, linker, make programs one-by-one. The window will look like this screenshot:

Dear Berak , Thanks . I have both downloaded available with me. VS2010 and Mingw almost 1.3 GB data , Got MinGW through mingw-get-setup.exe , have cmake-3.0.0-win32-x86.exe , I also have downloaded MinGWStudioFullSetupPlus-2.exe . I have used codeblocks-10.05mingw-setup.exe to install CodeBlock. I have also tried C::B ver 12 and codeblocks-13.12mingw-setup.exe

You are making it way to complex ... right click on your codeblocks project, build options, click drop down menu. Is there a visual compiler 2008? or a visual compiler 2010? If not, just download that one and it will work.

32 or 64 bit are available.

In my computer (windows, 64bit), I find that there are gcc.exe and g++.exe in the path:

D:\codeblocks\install\CodeBlocks\MinGW\bin

and gdb32.exe in the path:

D:\codeblocks\install\CodeBlocks\MinGW\gdb32\bin ff782bc1db
