All SSL Certificates offer session security and encrypt any information transmitted to the website, but they differ in terms of how much verified identity information is included in the certificate and how they display in browsers. Choose your certificate type based on how much trust you want to convey to visitors.

Please ensure to order your certificate from the Region where the company in the certificate is based, and with the correct currency. If your certificate request upon ordering does not match these criteria, your order may risk being delayed, and/or not being processed.

Use our certificate management platform to make your life much easier. Centralizing all certificates simplifies lifecycle management, helps avoid unexpected expirations, and makes it easy to set budgets. Company identity information and domains are pre-verified so you can instantly issue certificates as needed.

GlobalSign is a certificate authority and a provider of internet identity and security products.[1] As of January 2015, Globalsign was the 4th largest certificate authority in the world, according to Netcraft.[2]

As of January 2015, Globalsign was the 4th largest certificate authority in the world according to the Netcraft survey.[2] GlobalSign was the first CA to improve revocation checking for HTTPS pages through the use of a CDN,[8] and the company was also the first to offer IPv6 compliant revocation services ("CRL").[9]

GlobalSign's services include managed PKI platform, S/MIME certification, SSL certificates, and a cloud-based certificate manager that integrates with Microsoft's AD and user account certifications.[12]

The company also provides certificates to authenticate IoT to address authentication needs in the Internet of Everything (IoE) market and to identity management as a cloud-based service.[13] Its PKI services can scale based on the velocity, variety, and volume of IOT platforms, and can manage the identities of millions of devices.[14]

In 2018, GlobalSign released its IoT Identity Platform.[20] It uses PKI as its identity mechanism and is used in industries including manufacturing, agriculture, smart grid, payments, IoT gateways, and healthcare.[20] One of the features of the platform is IoT Edge Enroll, which companies use to provision and manage the PKI-based identities.[20] Edge Enroll provides device Registration Authority (RA), certificate lifecycle management and other support services.[21] The platform also includes IoT CA Direct and IoT CA Connect.[21]

GlobalSign's root certificates are some of the most trusted root certificates in the PKI ecosystem. Since our inception, we have generated future-proof root certificates that exceed current industry best practices. We work diligently to protect the security of our root certificates, providing end users with trust anchors that secure all types of organization and individual authentication.

Some Apache and Java based applications require the Root & Intermediate certificates to be bundled in a single file. You can create a certificate bundle by opening a plain text editor (notepad, gedit, etc) and pasting in the text of the root certificate and the text of the intermediate certificate. The order they go in depends on the type of server you are running. Nginx for example concatenates all certificates in one file beginning with the server certificate.

This support article lists down the Qualified Production Certificate and Qualified Sample Certificate.Qualified certificates can only be issued by a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP) recognized under eIDAS. GlobalSign is recognized across all EU and EEA countries as a QTSP and has undergone the appropriate eIDAS conformity assessments in order to be able to provide qualified certificates for website authentication and electronic seals. All certificates, signatures, and seals are compliant with EU regulations and local signing standards.

How to Reorder Your SSL CertificateArticle Purpose: This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to reorder your SSL Certificate, which most commonly happens to customers when they have forgotten the pickup password. For security reasons, the pickup password is only known by the applicant. If you forgot your pickup password, you will need to reorder your SSL certificate.

I am not sure why it is a "Windows Digital ID" stored in the "Windows Certificate Store", as I did not purchase the certificate from Windows. But (if I remember correctly) I initially tried using the GlobalSign certificate with Microsoft Word 365, so maybe that's why? But then I also have that .pfx file, so I'm confused.

If someone were to check the certificate, it all looks good (see image below), it just doesn't say it is a GlobalSign certificate. But perhaps "Source of Trust obtained from Adobe Approved Trust List" means "although we said that this certificate was issued by Adobe CDS CA, what we actually mean is that the signer's certificate comes from a certificate provider on the Adobe Approved Trust List, so it's all good."

I have a document, correctly signed with a (higly expensive) GlobalSign hardware certificate plugged to a computer. GlobalSign is present in the Adobe's Trust List (Adobe Approved Trust List Members, Acrobat ), but still looks like it's not valid on Adobe Acrobat Pro DC for macOS:

What I want is my app to send a signed document to a client's user and make sure they will not call (me or my client) back telling me (nor my client) that the certificate we just send them is not valid, when they double click the file to see what's inside.

So, what you (that answer) are telling me is that, for that to happen, I'll have to tell all my client's users, which I have no control over, to make a procedure (of trusting a root certificate directly from the document) that Adobe Reader itself says is dangerous? Even though I got it from a (theoretically) Adobe trusted provider?

I visited Global Sign and then called to ask about compatibility with the SHA1 requirement and with a sales person's help found that their standard code signing certificate is still optionally available as SHA1 ( the SHA-256 was the default in the order form, but the SHA-1 option is there.)

I am not aware of these SHA1 issues. Allow me some time to check with the subject matter expert. In the mean time help me better understand your goal. You're trying to purchase a SHA1 certificate but want to make sure it's from a source that our device fully supports? You're doing right by making sure the certificate authority is listed in our root catalog.

I think you bought GlobalSign certificate which you will not be able to use with Uniflash. You have code signing certificate with token. This type of certificate is too secure to be able use with Uniflash. Issue is simple. It is not possible extract private key from token and this key use with Uniflash.

We use Digicert Extended Validation Code Signing Certificate for signing of our computer software. This type of certificate use token and Gemalto software as at your image above. I was not able use this type of code signing certificate with Uniflash because I was not able able extract private key from secured token (main goal of token is do not allow read private key). From this reason we bought additional code signing certificate from Digicert. Name of this certificate is Standard Code Signing Certificate.

I am getting back to them with your statement about "You have code signing certificate with token. This type of certificate is too secure to be able use with Uniflash." and am on hold.

I find my self caught in the middle with a TI requirement the completeness of which I have no idea how how to check and a certificate vendor who does not provide a detailed specification for the product they sell and so I cannot check.

You can ask your code signing certificate provider if there is a way how to extract your private key from USB token. I expect that answer will be that this is not possible. Because reason why USB tokens exists is to protect your private key.

They may to be additional way. You can create additional intermediate certificate by OpenSSL and sign this certificate by the your private key at your USB token. There will be one additional level of intermediate certificate, but this is not big deal. Unfortunately I was not able figure out how this can be done via Gemalto SafeNet software. Maybe this is not achievable, who knows...

I am not able give you better advice than I given you at my first answer. I use Digicert Standard Code Signing Certificate and it works well for me (and few other e2e forum users). I am pretty convinced that definitely exists additional certificate providers which are able provide proper code signing certificate for CC3220 device. But I am not able give you any advice in this topic. This will be up to you. But if you find additional CA which can issue required certificate let me know. Other users of e2e will be glad for alternative to Digicert.

If I understand correctly this SafeNet tool does not expose the private key so it is preventing you from using Uniflash to sign whatever file you're trying to sign. Perhaps an alternative is to use the tool to generate a signature file and provide that file when adding a secure user file in Uniflash along with the certificate.

I think that it had no provision for signing a CSR externally generated (where I would have the private key because I generated it) or for generating a CSR and providing me with the private key and the certificate. It only worked with something built into Windows to generate certificates that would get added to the Windows catalog. The Windows utility is called "signtool" and I did not learn much about it except that the GlobalSign tech support quickly came to the conclusion that we did not have a path to success with what I was delivered. 17dc91bb1f
