In my desktop I have a running two browser in time (FF+Chrome). So, Portable FF can't start when I have a running normal version (Only one instance can be run). So I try chromium portable, but in Chrome you can't choose a PROXY for only this browser.

In this case, simply add proxy profiles in the configuration and you will have a shortcut for every one of them at the extension menu (the icon of the world besides Chrome menu). When you select the proxy you need, the settings will be applied immediatly. I have been using the former version of this extension (SwitchySharp), now deprecated. The extension have also advanced configuration to automate the switching, but I don't think this is necessary here.

Cosmos Browser requires internet connection to Chaos services to work correctly. When Cosmos Browser is installed in a network where all requests go through a proxy server, some proxy configuration should be applied.

By default, the Cosmos Browser detects the proxy connection automatically. On some occasions you might need to specify additional settings, such as proxy type, host, port, username and password. See below how to set the configuration.

I tried setting a different proxy in Internet Explorer and restarted CC: now it connects as expected, but when I remove the proxy from Internet Explorer settings again, CC still tries to connect to that proxy!!!

I am unclear how a proxy which has been disabled could be blocking Creative Cloud applications but this is usually handled by the Creative Cloud Desktop Application so please ensure that this is installed and up to date.

When running Google Chrome under a supported desktop environment, the system proxy settings will be used. However, either your system is not supported or there was a problem launching your system configuration.

If you want to tell google-chrome to NOT use a proxy with specific domains use --proxy-bypass-list command. This command specifies a list of hosts for whom we bypass proxy settings and use direct connections. Ignored if --proxy-auto-detect or --no-proxy-server are also specified. This is a comma-separated list of bypass rules.

Google Chrome and Chromium obey the environment proxy variables (http_proxy, no_proxy, etc.) and the proxies set via gsettings. gsettings comes preinstalled on [XL]ubuntu, so this is one way which doesn't need sudo privileges.

The keys org.gnome.system.proxy.http[s].{host,port,authentication-user,authentication-user} (and similar options for FTP and SOCKS proxies) and the proxy autoconfiguration key org.gnome.system.proxy.autoconfig_url can be used for this:

I want to setup the browser proxy setting in all IBM Endpoint Manager users, mean while if take one machine all the user can not change proxy setting by them self, so how can I enable this setting using IEM server customized fixlets.

GPO if this is a domain attached computer. If, by chance, this is a workgroup system that is not domain attached you can use the registry to set the proxy in script and have an open policy keeping it in check. I currently have to do something similar for keeping our trusted sites and tabbed browser settings in line since we have a portal designed for Netscape Navigator.

In an explicit proxy setup, DNS query is performed by proxy ideally. There is no need for client to preform DNS and then pass the domain name to proxy. Sometimes, the client application or Java applets are seen to be performing a DNS lookup at client side also. Another example for client performing DNS query is when PAC (WPAD) file is implemented which is having destination IP based conditions.

My challenge here is, I have a DNS threat prevention solution, which tend to block DNS queries to malicious websites. It blocks those malicious queries successfully. But the source IP for the malicious query is seen as the proxy server IP address.

since the SG itself is generating the DNS Requests (in explicit proxy mode) and is not just forwarding or proxying a DNS request from a client I think this is technically impossible. There is no DNS request from a client and therefore no originating IP other than the SG's IP address.

If you are using a PAC file you can try and insert a "dnsResolve(host)" function there. Then the client will have to perform a DNS lookup (either from its local cache or from a DNS server) and you get your log entry on the DNS server with the source IP address of the client. Of course you will also get an additional DNS request from the ProxySG.

While those browsers have full support for HTTP/SOCKS proxies under all other OSes (Linux, OSX and even Windows), they are lacking it completely under Android. There's no setting at all to configure one.

There's some system-wide support when you configure wifi, but that's not what I talk about. I mean the good ol' application-level proxy support. I don't want to send all traffic through a proxy, but just that for a specific browser on demand.

There's no apparent "technical" reason for that lack. I suspect it'd be something related to the "Android Program Policy" (or whatever else it's called). In my opinion it looks like an intentional choice as the system-level proxy you can normally configure could be leaking information for some reason or bug.

N.B. Starting with v68.11 Firefox for Android doesn't provide anymore access to settings via the about:config pseudo-page, even if it's listed in about:about pseudo-page. This is not mentioned within the release notes and means that there's no way anymore to use a proxy within a browser. However Firefox Nightly releases still allow users to access about:config, you can install theses builds to use a proxy.

the previous question in this thread was apparently to difficult.Today, I dibbled most of my firewall rules and then restored them until TOR was able to connect. Still nothing in the logs. But, I did find which firewall rule was allowing the TOR browser through, still nothing in logviewer showing a connection. I found that TOR would attempt to connect through port 443 on my decrypt and scan firewall rule when all other rules blocked it. Now when TOR uses port 443 the failing addresses show in the logviewer displays but if it uses a different port then nothing appears in logviewer.

thank you, I have most of those suggestions in place except for one rule that needed no checking. I have since worked out a way to check the application using that rule without causing connection failures.

This feature is currently available for those using the copy/paste or NPM browser installation methods. There is currently no UI or NerdGraph configuration options available. We are continuing to work on improving access to these and other configuration options.

Ad blockers and security VPNs often block third-party domains because they can be used to track users across the web. By proxying your requests through a first-party subdomain, you can bypass these blockers and ensure that your observability data is still being collected.

As of browser agent version 1.240.0 and higher, you can set up two different types of proxies, depending on what kind of data you want to forward: a proxy to fetch the browser agent code, and a proxy to forward analytics data to New Relic.

New Relic does not provide or support a cloud proxy service, so you must configure and manage your own proxy servers. To ensure full functionality, we make the following assumptions about your proxies:

The issue with captive portals has been plagueing us for a while now because all our users are forced to use a proxy to surf the internet. Clearly they aren't allowed to disable the proxy either. But with the proxy enabled and not yet connected to the VPN they cannot access most of the captive portals that are present on public hotspot or hotel wifis. I've already exempt all local network IPs from the proxy but these captive portals are more often than not on non-LAN IPs and there is simply no way for me to exempt all of them from the proxy.

So whenever a user connect to a public wifi with a captive portal all they get is the browser showing a proxy error - because it isn't reachable. And without the captive portal they can't get a functioning internet connection and thus can't establish the VPN connection to reach the proxy either. Nice catch-22 right there.

"An AnyConnect embedded browser for captive portal remediation" sounded exactly like what I always hoped for. So I downloaded AnyConnect 4.9.01095 (why stick with 4.7 when I can upgrade to 4.9 in the process?) and got to testing ...

"Fast" forward to 6 hours later. I got the configuration working they way I'd like it to work .. only to figure out that the "AnyConnect embedded browser for captive portal remediation" is practically just an embedded Internet Explorer!? When I connect to a public wifi with a captive portal the embedded browser opens just fine, but I'm greeted by the exact same proxy error message that I'd get in Internet Explorer too. And no matter how much I crawl the documentation, read forums and click my way through random forum posts I cannot come up with a solution to this issue.

i am having the same issue while using the Zscaler proxy the embedded browser doesn't open the redirection and it fails showing proxy error while not using Zscaler proxy works fine.

even Zscaler also detect for captive portal and it fail-open all the traffic to direct not going to proxy but still not able to open most of the captive portal network anyone have solution for this issue please share.

Thank you.

my english is very bad, so i use google translate:

For the past few days, I have had a problem connecting to tor browser with my oppo phone. I struggle to connect and when I get there it quickly gives me a message telling me that the connection is refused by the proxy server, yet it seems to me that I am not using a proxy and I have no problem with connect to the internet via Google or Firefox.

My automated tests use a proxy to ensure that the browser is not ip-authenticated. I need to do the same for the xk6-browser tests.

i used an example i found using playwright that supposedly launches it with proxy, but it does not work 2351a5e196
