I've never really messed around with prefixes before. I tried Winetricks but I found it a tad messy installing into the new prefix. Plus I didn't like the way it buried the prefix deep in the Home directory tree and there didn't seem to be any way of changing that.
Spoke too soon. Some installers are throwing up errors where they installed just fine into default wine. I had an issue closing an installer that had an error and now none of the Wine system apps are working. I cant launch the uninstaller and I cant install anything anymore.
