Note: Legacy Blink cameras XT, XT2, and Indoor (1st Gen) cannot make use of Local Storage or Clip Backup with a Sync Module and USB flash drive. These cameras receive 7,200 seconds of cloud storage or unlimited storage when covered by a Plus plan. When these cameras are not covered by a subscription and reach their 7,200 second limit, the oldest clips are deleted as new ones are stored in the cloud.

Blink Subscription Plans safely store your motion clips and Live View sessions on Blink's cloud servers. Cloud-based clips are viewed in the Blink app. Subscriptions can be applied to all Blink cameras, but newer features are exclusive to newer devices.

Purchase a Blink Subscription at any time, and cancel when you wish. When you cancel, you have the option to end your plan on or before the renewal date. If you cancel, your subscription plan will end immediately and you will be refunded for any unused portion of it. Your clips stay viewable in the Blink app until they are manually deleted, or the clip reaches its auto-deletion time (60 days US or 30 days in the EU/UK). With a Blink Subscription plan, you also have unlimited cloud video recording.

Note: Legacy Blink cameras XT, XT2, and Indoor (1st Gen) cannot make use of Local Storage or Clip Backup with a Sync Module and USB flash drive. However, these cameras continue to receive 7200 seconds of Cloud storage. Clips will auto-delete when their 7,200 second limit is reached OR when the existing clips are saved for longer than 60 days US (30 days UK/EU), whichever comes first.

The more clips you have, the more time it will take to sort through the clips you want to see. Fortunately, the Blink app offers a way to filter different clips, clips from a certain system, or clips from certain cameras. The default view shows all clips from all your cameras on all the systems that are available.

Up until a few days ago the Blink App worked very well on the Chromebook, which uses Google Play to run the Blink App. Recently, when I go to watch the clips (recorded videos), 90%+ of the time it won't play the video, just a black screen. I power washed (reformatted) the chromebook, reset the app (cleared cache, etc.), nothing is improving my experience. (Blink Version 6.15.0, Build Number 27628883).

Note: Local storage clips that are automatically backed up to your USB drive do not auto-delete. However, if you've reached maximum storage capacity on that drive, backups are no longer created and more storage space must be made available for clip backup to resume.

If you have a Sync Module 2 with a USB flash drive and an active Blink subscription plan, a daily backup of your Cloud Storage clips are also saved to the USB drive. These backup clips are not viewable in the Blink app, but are viewable when the USB drive is inserted into your computer. Backups are added to the drive every 24 hours the moment you plug in the USB drive.

When your primary storage type changes (i.e., switching from Cloud storage to Local Storage or vice-versa), all clips stay where they were created until they reach the auto-delete limit or get deleted manually.

We removed your Cloud tab

This warning message appears when you stop or cancel your subscription, and all of your Cloud storage clips have either been deleted or reached their auto-delete time.

Clip Backup downloads all clips from eligible cameras that were saved to your Cloud Storage and writes them to the USB flash drive that's plugged into your Sync Module 2.

When your USB flash drive has less than 375MB of storage space, clips are no longer saved, and clip backups stop.

If you do not have enough free space on your USB flash drive, backups cannot continue. Clip recording resumes when there is enough free space. Delete clips to make space or insert a new USB storage drive with more space into the Sync Module.

Local Storage clips may take a few moments to appear in the Blink app because they are being uploaded from your Sync Module 2. Blink recommends your Wi-Fi and internet upload speeds have a minimum of 2 MB/sec for best results.

Blink doorbell, outdoor camera and Sync2 module installed, was storing motion clips on cloud, cancelled the trial subscription as I do not want to use that and advertising says system will store motion clips on Sync 2 USB drive,

Cancelled trial subscription, motion detection working on both cameras and notifications being received. USB stick recognized, Sync2 shows the cameras available for local storage. However, nothing gets stored. Local storage clips says "This USB storage device has no clips", looking at the USB stick on computer shows that Sync2 created Blink folders, but they are empty. I spent 30 minutes with Technical Support person who was very patient, tried a variety of things (interesting that they can remotely access all the devices, see settings and status). She could see the problem, could not fix it, put me on hold and contacted her next level of support, then reported that they could not resolve the "local storage problem", offered a new 30 trial subscription.

Any suggestions on how to get it to work before I take everything down and return everything before the return time limit passes? I gather from this site that some people have local storage of motion clips working. Would deleting all devices and re-installing with no subscription status be worth trying? Create new account?

Spontaneous blinking is a non-invasive indicator known to reflect dopaminergic influence over frontal cortex and attention allocation in perceptual tasks. 38 participants watched eighteen short film clips (2 min), designed to elicit specific affective states, and arranged in six different emotional categories, while their eye movements were recorded from the vertical electroculogram. The largest blink rate inhibition, reflecting greater attention allocation to the movie, was observed during the presentation of Erotic clips, excerpts on wilderness depicting beautiful landscapes (Scenery), as well as clips showing crying characters (Compassion). Instead, the minimum blink rate inhibition was found for Fear clips, which induced a defensive response with stimulus rejection. Blink rate across time evidenced how Compassion clips elicited early inhibition while Sadness clips induced a slower, later inhibition. Correlation analyses also revealed a negative correlation (r < -0.40) between total blink rate recorded during Erotic and Compassion clips and self-reported interest. Overall, the main variable explaining blink rate was emotional Valence. Results suggest that blink modulation is related with the motivational relevance and biological significance of the stimuli, tracking their differential recruitment of attentional resources. Furthermore, they provide a solid background for studying the emotion-attention patterns and their deficits also in clinical samples (e.g., neurological and psychiatric patients) using spontaneous blinking as a not-interfering psychophysiological measure.

I was having trouble getting the Blink Camera local storage feature to work on my Nighthawk network. All of the Blink features worked except for the ability to locally store recorded video clips to the USB installed on the Blink Sync module. Live video worked with no issues.

I played with a number of settings on the Nighthawk but nothing worked. I decided to create a guest network and connected the Blink Cameras to it. Local storage of video clips immediately started to work but I don't understand why it wouldn't work on my primary wifi SSID. My primary SSID as these settings enabled:

Regarding the Blink setup, it is similar to how you described Arlo. The Blink Sync Module accepts a USB drive . The camera is wirelessly connected to the Sync Module and the wifi network. As I previously mentioned, everything worked, including live view but it wouldn't store the clips to the USB on the Sync Module. e24fc04721
