I've had this TV (75" Frame 2022) for a little over a month and noticed that it becomes totally unresponsive after watching something on Binge or Kayo for 20-25 minutes. The issue is persistent and I'm able to replicate it everytime. When this happens, I'm unable to use the TV as the the remote stops working and also the physical button on the TV doesn't work. To resolve this issue, I need to power cycle the TV. Pretty annoying that these apps are causing the TV to crash!

I have had this problem with Kayo crashing my Samsung TV too. I just read about a possible fix that suggested that the problem is with the DNS setting on the TV being caused by local ad blockers or ISP DNS server settings. It suggested changing the DNS setting on the TV to 8.8.8.8, which is the Google DNS server. I tried this about an hour ago and have had the Kayo app running since and so far so good. Perfect picture, no glitches!

I have the exact same problem with the Binge app on two Samsung TV's. I also run Pihole, so I will try letting one of the TV's bypass it for name resolution and see if that helps. A bit of a bummer though as one of the reasons I run Pihole was to stop the constant ad and analytics traffic from the Samsung TV's.

I updated the DNS server on one of the TV's to not go via PiHole and it worked with no problems over a two hour test. Previously it would hang up after about 10 minutes. Not sure where to go from here. Working out specifically which of the Samsung domains need to be whitelisted to avoid the problem is going to be a time consuming exercise and potentially self defeating if I need to open up everything for it to work. My time is perhaps better off used exploring alternative options to get the streaming content I want.

I tried overnight by disabling the local IP of the telly on the pihole and no freezes. A bit of Reddit searching shows this might be the culprit.

I guess the next stage is to re-enable the device and whitelist that domain and test again.

I did the following to fix my setup.

In Pihole.

1. Created a group called Samsung

2. Added the TV as a client to this group only (not default)

3. Added domain config.samsung.ads to this group.

There are different types of TVs like OLED, QLED, and mini-LED, which may be confusing as you get varying image quality from these screens. But let's focus on the QLED TVs, specifically Samsung's Neo QLED line, which PhilSTAR L!fe got to test.

The TV evokes a sleek look with its slim bezels, which go to the edge of the screen. While a 65-inch screen is big, the QN85C is slim even from the side as its back is entirely flat. It also has a heavy hexagon stand that feels sturdy.

Among the shows I binge-watched on this screen is Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender and I loved how great the contrast is and how I could see all the details even in the background. This came in handy while playing games and it made me appreciate the gorgeous graphics more.

Upon opening the TV, you're greeted by a home screen displaying your apps and favorite content in one place. Apps like Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video come pre-loaded on the TV but if you want to add others, you can easily download from the Play Store.

Like other smart TVs, the Samsung Neo QLED also has a built-in browser so you can read websites if you want. In addition, I was delightfully surprised when I learned I could also AirPlay from my laptop straight to the TV, without needing to connect through the Apple TV. This came in handy when I wanted to show pictures to my family.

Each of the series in this list has six or fewer episodes, which makes them short enough to binge in just one weekend. The stories and characters are unforgettable, so grab a bag of popcorn and start streaming. (Plus, don't miss the three bonus series at the end of the list that are more than six episodes but still bingeworthy on a long holiday weekend!)

Ready to get started? Click any of the links below to sign in and start watching or download the free PBS Video App on your Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, newer Samsung Smart TV or Android TV. You can also watch on your computer, phone or tablet to get lost in these enthralling dramas.

This crime drama grabs you into its story right away and takes you to Amsterdam. Julien Baptiste is a retired detective recovering from a health scare. But a call from an old friend pulls him back into solving mysteries. This series is perfect for viewers who enjoy good character development and talented acting.

This is another series that's based on a true story. Norwegian Crown Princess Martha needed a place for her family to go when the Nazis invaded her home. President Franklin Roosevelt welcomed them into the White House. So what exactly happened during that time, and what's the truth about their relationship? Watch the series first, then check out MASTERPIECE's "Fact or Fiction" recaps for each episode. 152ee80cbc
