Everything changed when, as a last-ditch effort, I began listening to an audio version of the KJV while I read along. I discovered that by listening in conjunction to reading, my comprehension multiplied ten times. I actually have a hard time describing the effect; it was so profoundly helpful, it was a bit like seeing for the first time. Suddenly words and phrases which were previously meaningless began to make sense, dialogue which was incoherent started to fall into place, and my daily Bible reading quickly became one of the most enjoyable parts of my day.

Tim Raymond has been the pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana, USA since April 2006. He received his MDiv from the Baptist Bible Seminary of Pennsylvania in 2004 and has pursued further education through the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation. Tim met his wife Bethany at college, and they were married in May 2001. Tim enjoys reading, weight-lifting, playing with his three sons and two daughters, and attempting to sleep. I began to see the time in the car as time to invest. We were all stuck there, we might as well use the time with a captive audience to discuss the things of God, to pray together, to memorize scripture together, and to process through our days. I started researching audio Bible resources for kids and other audio resources to help lead this time. We have used many different things over the years now, but I thought since a new year of school has begun here, it was the perfect time to share some of these resources with you.

I'm a non-religious graduate student brought up in a secular home. I have tried reading the bible a few times over the years but since I'm going it alone, without any meaningful religious context, I just don't seem to be able to get into the book's intended rhythm. I am really interested in writers like Tolstoy, Kierkegaard, C.S. Lewis, etc., so I would really like to understand where they are coming from.

Tapping the Start Audio Bible from the Verse Tap Menu the audio options will expand to allow you to listen to the Bible with 3 options.

Please note to listen to the audio Bible you must have an internet connection and have selected one of the audio Bibles (KJV, NKJV, NLT, RVR60) that was previously installed on the app from Managed Bibles.

When the audio Bible option is enabled a Media Player will apear in the Bible reading text. Once the Media Player is launched it begins playing the audio stream from the BLB servers. This audio will continue playing until you manually pause, stop, quit the player or the audio stream completes. The audio can also continue even if your device sleeps.

This same media player will be launched from Text Commentaries when you have selected to listen to an "Audio" Commentary and from the Greek/Hebrew Pronunciations option.

When listening to audio from a tag_hash_113_____________ connection it is important that you have enabled the apps's Preference tag_hash_114______________ option.

The Daily Bible Reading Plan coincides with weekend worship! Each weekend we will teach on the New Testament readings that you read that week (the reading plan starts on Mondays and goes through Sundays). After doing your daily readings all week, come to worship to learn more and dive deeper into what you read!
