I'm Kelley, founder and trainer of Down Dog Obedience Training and  my assistant trainer and mentor dog is Shuni (black pittie on the left).  She is a rescue from the Bakersfield shelter.  My professional training career started in the early 90's with exotic animals and birds for conservation shows and veterinary care in a zoo.  Having horses most of my life, I trained them as well! In 2017, I applied this knowledge and experience in animal behavior to training domestic dogs.  I am a certified dog trainer with experience in dog behavior, obedience training, and behavior modification. I've worked for two professional training companies  before founding Down Dog Obedience Training to bring personalized, mission-driven training to the Santa Barbara community.  I am an advocate for rescue dogs, but love all breeds.

Because a well trained dog is less likely to end up in a shelter or euthanized, my mission is to help as many dogs as possible by offering my own eclectic method of training to our dog community and being be a voice for the voiceless.  My training enables dogs to have the biggest, happiest lives possible!
