Down Dog Obedience Training is my own holistic, eclectic method of dog training I have developed from my experience of training different species, including wild and domestic canines. It goes beyond operant conditioning. I call it Dog Yoga. Yoga means Becoming One with. I help people connect with their dogs on a deep level, becoming One with them in mind , body and spirit. I teach people about the true nature of dogs and how to meet their basic needs beyond food, water and shelter. Dogs are pack animals so they need to be with their human pack, but in order to coexist peacefully, they need to have good manners! They also need to be dogs, spending time on and off leash with other dogs in nature. In order to do this safely, they need to have a strong foundation in Basic Obedience.
Exercise and Socialization is essential to a dog's mental, physical and spiritual health and is a key component of my training curriculum. I empower both dog and human while creating trust and respect on both ends of the leash. I teach dogs how to respect human boundaries while teaching humans how to respect canine boundaries. Because dogs are nature's empaths, a mirror reflection of our own energy, my approach brings awareness to the impact your energy has on your dog's behavior.
When Shuni and I aren't working we like to be off grid backpacking in the mountains.
I have created my own holistic, eclectic method of dog training I call Dog Yoga. Yoga means becoming One with. It invites you to transcend the typical dog-owner dynamic. Instead, we focus on how to become One with your Dog in Mind, Body and Spirit. It is designed to build shared consciousness, calm energy and deep connection. My approach is fluid and organic as each training plan is taylored to suit you and your dog's specific needs.
