Salt&Pepper - Scener in production

Dramatic scenes

Host and guests enjoy a shared meal, surrounded by delicious tapas and tasty wine. Although the atmosphere is characterized by laughter and pleasant conversation, there is a subtle moment where we can catch a glimpse of vulnerability on their faces.

Some of the actors had previous film and stage experience, while others were completely new. Therefore, we first had three weeks of reading tests, which created a bond between the actors that is reflected on the screen when we see them together on the film set.

LANGUAGE IS MORE THAN WORDS

For the director, language is more than the spoken or drawn word. Mimicry, the form of sign language, facial expression and bodily movements are also linguistic expressions. In the communication between the actors, much emphasis is placed on a "wordless" way of communicating. In the picture next to it, we see two actors conveying feelings of despair and anger.

The actors have worked very hard to deliver strong and authentic performances. Although many have no film experience, their ability to convey emotions through facial expressions and sign language has helped to make the scenes vivid and poignant.

- Their professionalism and commitment bring the story to life in a convincing way, says director Con Mehlum.
