The Flea Thrift Strategic Plan
Problem/Opportunity:
The Client, The Flea Thrift needed a plan to expand their business beyond its current format.
Special Circumstances:
This was a group project that worked with a local small business. Sections 2.0, 3.0, and appendices were completed by myself.
Target Public(s):
Primary: The Flea Thrift Owners, two Bloomington residents working the store as a second source of income.
Secondary: The Flea Thrift's Customers. The people in the Bloomington-Normal area that frequently shop at thrift stores.
Objective:
Produce the strategic plan for the client by Nov. 21, 2024.
(Benchmark: Previous strategic plans for local thrift stores)
Evaluation:
The strategic plan was completed on time and contained all the necessary information for the client to take action.
Title:
DEIA for PR Professionals
Problem/Opportunity:
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access are important to the growth of the public relations field, and people must understand what is at stake to create change.
Target Public(s):
Primary: Public Relations Professionals currently practicing in the field.
Objective:
Produce a detailed infographic highlighting DEIA issues in Public Relations and suggested solutions by Oct. 17, 2024.
(Benchmark: Other DEIA infographics, especially infographics targeted towards the public relations field. )
Evaluation:
The infographic was completed on time
This infographic included the necessary information to inform public relations professionals and invite them to take action.

Public Relations Case Analysis
Problem/Opportunity:
British Petroleum utilized greenwashing tactics in its public relations campaigns. The business used a large portion of its resources to promote making the company more sustainable, while not taking significant action.
Special Circumstances:
This analysis was written for an assignment. but the information is truthful and accurate.
Target Public(s):
Primary: BP consumers who purchase gas from companies with sustainable practices
Secondary: BP's public relations team. Previous and future members of the team.
Objectives:
Identify BP's current actions in their public relations campaigns by March 26, 2024.

Identify BP's motivations for their course of action by March 26, 2024.

YWCA Media Kit and Facts Sheet
Problem/Opportunity:
The Young Women's Christian Association is hosting a trivia night to raise money to expand their Stepping Stones Rape Crisis Center. They require a media kit to utilize in promoting the event.
Target Public(s):
Primary: The YWCA public relations and marketing team.
Secondary: The potential event attendees. People in the community with capital to donate to the organization.
Objectives:
Produce a fact sheet by Oct. 23, 2023.

Problem/Opportunity:
Events on campus needed to be reported on by May 5, 2023, to inform the community of local events.
Special Circumstances:
These stories were fictional, but they were written based on a provided facts sheet. These stories were not published and were only used for an assignment.
Target Public(s):
Primary: Illinois State University students and Faculty both on and off campus.
Secondary: The Bloomington-Normal Community and and future/potential students.
Objectives:
Write a feature story about an Illinois State student winning an academy award by May 5, 2023.

Write a press release about an Illinois State building catching fire by May 5, 2023.
