The LIMITS lab is equipped with the computational tools necessary to carry out thermodynamic calculations as a function of temperature, pressure and composition, as well to as develop thermodynamic databases.

The lab is also set up to measure the masses of CHNS/O in samples of varying complexity using an Elementar vario EL cube and to carry out experiments in a Coy anaerobic chamber. Shared facilities in the Department of Earth Sciences at SMU enable stable isotope measurements in a variety of samples types for many elements (Stable Isotope Lab), SEM and XRD analyses  (Materials Characterization Lab) and for work in microbial geochemistry (Chase Lab).
