is an Associate Professor at the Department of Politics and Society, Aalborg University. He holds a Ph.D. (2020) from the Department of Political Science at Aarhus University. His research examines, among other things, the spread of urban self-government in medieval Europe, the impact of religious movements on institutional change, and the role of the state in promoting democratization.
