The first Double Dip was held September 23rd, 1995. It has been held annually except for 2001 because of September 11th and in 2011 when construction on Marist's campus prevented it from being contested. The original course was exceptionally complicated and remained essentially unchanged until the opening of Marist's "cross creek" property and more than 1.5 miles of trails were added to campus. Two notable performances from the first incarnation of the course. Ben Hubers of McEachern ran 15:58 on it and Emily Reese of Chamblee ran 17:57 on it (with a wrong turn!). While we haven't eclipsed those marks yet, the course has gotten substantially more difficult with three major hills added and much softer footing.

Here are the original course maps for the first version of Double Dip from 1997-2010 designed by Coach Benson himself.
