COURSE
Video of the course: https://vimeo.com/138407067
The course has been the same since 2013 and is 4920m. It will begin with our standard 800m grassy loop before crossing a bridge and entering the "cross creek" trails; note, there are the only two real choke points on the entire course (800m in at the bridge crossing and just past the 1 mile mark at another narrow bridge). We will follow the new trail up a medium sized hill and down on some crushed gravel paths. We will go straight through the gravel trails and across a field to our 800m woods loop known as the copper trail. It is relatively wide, has mulch or crushed gravel put down and 200m in you pass the 1 mile mark. It contains a medium sized but very steep hill (it is imperative that you inform your runners of this hill and that they are very careful on the descent). You will pop out of the woods, make a sharp left on "pipeline" which is wood chips and sometimes hay bales and then return on the exact same path back to the main field. A half perimeter of the front field will bring you to the the 2 mile mark and then the traditional Double Dip hills which have been a part of the course since its beginnings in 1995. The traditional trails will bring you behind the football stadium, the baseball field, and then back to the main field. There is approximately 230m on the main field with a long straight away into the finish chute lined with screaming fans.
All records are from 2013 and on since the course significantly changed with the addition of new property and 1.5 miles of trails. See the history section of the website to learn more about the older versions of the course.
