Intro

I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Pavia at the Neuroimaging and brain modelling lab and a member of the Milan Center for Neuroscience. Before I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Charité - Univesitätsmedizin Berlin and Technische Universität Berlin within the Excellence Cluster "Science of Intelligence". My previous postdoc positions were funded by the Center for Mind/Brain Sciences (CIMeC) at the University of Trento, the Department of Economics at the University of Minnesota, and the Department of Psychology at the University of Milano-Bicocca

My research aims to characterize the cognitive mechanisms underlying human behavior and the neural representations of cognitive variables that may affect choice and guide action, especially during social interaction, with either healthy humans or patients. My goal is to identify brain parameters recorded using Magnetic Resonance Imaging that could be used to simulate personalized virtual brains in order to characterize and predict dysfunctions and clinical outcomes in clinical populations and to implement these architectures in artificial systems. To this purpose, I employ a combination of behavioral tasks, learning paradigms, functional magnetic resonance imaging, standard analysis methods, advanced decoding techniques, and simulations.
