Shizuka Minamoto

Appearance

Shizuka is a light skinned 10 year old girl with big rounded eyes with black pupils. She has long hair, typically tied with a ribbon, and she is often seen wearing dresses or traditional Japanese clothing,  Her body and facial features may differ due to different adaptations throughout the years. Overall, Her appearance reflects her gentle and feminine nature.

Characteristics

Shizuka is portrayed as a sweet and considerate girl in the series. She is often seen as the voice of reason among her group of friends, providing a calming influence. Shizuka is known for her polite and respectful behavior towards others. She cares for weaker people and abused animals. She has a pet dog named Pero, and the series also depicts her as having a pet parrot named Peeko. She wishes to be a nurse or an air-hostess when she grows up. Both jobs reflect her kind nature. Shizuka is known to have a close friendship with the main characters, Nobita, Doraemon, Gian, and Suneo, she is often involved in the many adventures that the group goes through, she values her friendships deeply and cares for her friends. Shizuka is known to have a very close friendship with Nobita, Her interactions with him often contribute to the heartwarming moments of the series, it was further disclosed that Nobita would ultimately become Shizuka's future husband.

Shizuka is shown to have many useful skills, she is skilled in various activities, such as cooking, gardening, and playing musical instruments like the piano and violin, it is also known that her favorite activity is to bath, this has caused her much trouble throughout the series. Although she attempts to conceal it, her favorite delicacy is sweet potatoes, she also loves to play with dolls. Despite her deep affection for animals, it was revealed that she harbors a fear of some animals such as Frogs and Crabs, both real and artificial.

Shizuka serves as one of the central characters in the series. While she may not be as adventurous as some of the other characters, her presence adds balance and a sense of harmony to the group.
