Longitude Waves:
The disturbance moves in the same direction as the wave. Like a slinkt for example.

Transverse Waves:
The direction in which the wave travels is perpendicular to the direction of the disturbance.

Wavelength - the distnace before the crests (or top) of the waves. (Photo 2)
Amplitide - the distance from the center line to the top of the crest. (Photo 3)
Trough - the lowest part of the wave, (Photo 4)
Diurnal Tide - when there is only one episode of high water and low water each day. (Photo 1.
Semi-Diurnal Tide - has two episodes of high water and low water. (Photo 2)
Mixed Tide - can have two episodes of high and low water, however, they are unequal and dont rise or fall to the same levels every time. (Photo 3)
