Dong Lab received the 2025 NSF CAREER Award! Dong Lab aims to integrate wirelessly controlled microfluidics into the robots to enable complex and multifunctional behaviors. This integration will allow bioagent manipulation, including liquid drug delivery and biofluid sampling. It is an incredible honor to receive the prestigious NSF CAREER Award which is highly competitive.

Faculty Research Awards recognize exceptional research achievements by VUSE faculty members across various disciplines. These awards honor the outstanding contributions of school faculty to advance knowledge, foster innovation, and make a significant impact on society through research in their respective fields and create a culture that actively celebrates research excellence and continues to inspire the pursuit of knowledge across all fields of study.
Dr. Dong received the 2024 Med-X Young Investigator Award! Each year, Med-X curates a special issue entitled the “Med-X Young Investigator Award” to honor outstanding young researchers who have demonstrated significant achievement and innovation in a specific area of biomedical engineering research. All Young Investigators are individually nominated by members of the Editorial Board in recognition of their potential to shape the future of their respective fields.
Dr. Dong received the 2023 Rising Star Award from Advanced Material Technologies! The Rising Stars series intends to celebrate the diversity of the international scientific communities that these top-tier journals serve by collecting outstanding Research Articles on studies conceptualized and supervised by recognized early career researchers from around the world.
