This information is used to provide Trading Journal's recordkeeping, calculation, analytics, reporting, and journal features.
Trading Journal does not sell your information or use your journal data for advertising or behavioral profiling.
Local Data Storage
By default, Trading Journal stores your journal data locally on your device.
iCloud Sync is optional and disabled by default.
Trading Journal does not operate a developer-controlled server that receives or stores your trading journal data.
Your locally stored journal information remains on your device unless you choose to use a feature that transfers, synchronizes, backs up, exports, or shares the information.
Optional iCloud Sync
Trading Journal includes optional iCloud synchronization. iCloud Sync is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled by the user.
When iCloud Sync is enabled, supported journal information is stored in your private iCloud/CloudKit database and synchronized between your compatible devices through Apple's iCloud services.
Trade attachments may also be stored and synchronized through your private iCloud Documents storage.
Trading Journal and its developer cannot access or read journal records stored in your private iCloud database or trade attachments stored in your private iCloud Documents storage. The developer can manage the application's CloudKit schema, such as the definitions of record types and fields used by the app, but cannot use that access to read individual users' private journal records.
Certain device-specific settings, including App Lock preferences, remain stored locally on the device and are not synchronized through iCloud.
Your use of iCloud is also subject to Apple's applicable iCloud terms and privacy policies.
Financial and Trading Information
Trading Journal processes financial information that you manually enter into the app, including trade prices, quantities, options premiums, fees, account starting values, estimated tax settings, and calculated trading performance.
Trading Journal does not connect directly to your brokerage, bank, or financial institution.
The app does not request or store:
Brokerage login credentials
Bank login credentials
Bank account numbers
Brokerage account numbers
Payment card information
Live brokerage account positions
Imported brokerage statements
Market-data account credentials
Profit and loss, performance statistics, options premium, and other analytics are calculated from information stored in your journal.
Trade Attachments and Screenshots
Trading Journal allows you to select screenshots and other images to attach to journal entries.
Images are selected through Apple's system photo picker. Trading Journal does not request unrestricted access to your entire photo library.
Selected images are processed and stored as Trading Journal attachments. The original image in your Photos library is not modified or deleted.
When iCloud Sync is enabled, supported trade attachments may be synchronized through your private iCloud storage.
Trading Journal does not send your attached images to the developer or use them for advertising, profiling, or marketing.
Face ID and Touch ID
Trading Journal may allow you to protect access to the app using Face ID, Touch ID, device authentication, or your device passcode.
Biometric authentication is performed by Apple's operating system.
Trading Journal does not receive, access, transmit, or store your facial biometric data, fingerprint data, biometric templates, or biometric scans.
The app receives only the authentication result necessary to determine whether access should be granted.
App Lock is optional and disabled unless you choose to enable it.
Analytics and Tracking
Trading Journal does not contain third-party advertising, analytics, attribution, or tracking SDKs.
The app does not use your journal information for advertising or behavioral profiling and does not track your activity across apps or websites owned by other companies.
The Analytics features within Trading Journal refer to calculations performed on your own trading journal information, such as profit and loss, win rate, options premium, and performance statistics. These calculations are performed for the purpose of providing the app's features and are not an advertising or user-tracking service.
Backups and Restores
Trading Journal allows you to create backups of your journal at your request.
Backups may contain trading information, journal entries, settings, tags, and trade attachments.
Backup files are under your control. If you save, copy, email, upload, or otherwise transfer a backup to another application or service, that service may handle the file according to its own privacy policy.
Trading Journal does not automatically upload your backup files to developer-controlled servers, and the developer does not automatically receive copies of your backups.
You are responsible for securely storing backup files containing your journal information.
Data Exports and Reports
Trading Journal may allow you to create exports and reports in formats such as CSV, Excel-compatible spreadsheets, PDF reports, or other supported formats.
Exports are created only at your request.
Exported files may contain financial or journal information depending on the type of export you choose.
Trading Journal does not automatically send exported files to the developer or upload them to developer-controlled servers.
Once you choose to share or save an exported file using another application or service, that application's or service's privacy practices may apply.
Support, Bug Reports, and Feature Requests
Trading Journal provides options for contacting the developer for support, reporting bugs, or submitting feature requests.
When you choose to contact the developer through these features, the email template may automatically include:
Trading Journal app version
App build number
iOS version
Device model
This information is included to assist with troubleshooting and support.
The information is displayed in the email before it is sent, and you may review, modify, or remove it before choosing to send the message.
Trading Journal does not automatically include your trades, journal entries, account balances, attachments, screenshots, brokerage information, or other journal content in support emails.
When you choose to send a support message, your email address and any information you voluntarily include in the message will be received by the developer. This information is used to respond to your request and provide support. It is not sold or used for advertising.
Deleting and Archiving Data
Trading Journal provides controls for deleting journal information.
Deleting a trade may permanently remove the trade and its associated transactions, journal information, reviews, and attachments. Because Trading Journal calculates performance from your stored journal information, deleting a trade may also change calculated P&L, options premium, analytics, and other journal totals.
Where available, the Archive feature allows you to remove a trade from the normal active trade lists while retaining it as part of your journal and historical calculations.
Trading Journal may also provide a Reset Journal feature that deletes stored journal information and resets certain journal settings.
If iCloud Sync is enabled, changes and deletions may synchronize through iCloud and affect your other devices using the synchronized journal.
Data Retention
Locally stored Trading Journal information remains on your device until you delete it, reset the journal, uninstall the app or otherwise remove its stored information, subject to normal device backup and restoration behavior.
When iCloud Sync is enabled, synchronized information may remain in your private iCloud account according to Apple's iCloud and CloudKit behavior and your actions within the app or iCloud.
Support communications that you voluntarily send may remain in the developer's email records as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain support history, or troubleshoot reported issues.
Third-Party Services
Trading Journal uses Apple-provided technologies and services to provide certain functionality, including:
iCloud and CloudKit for optional synchronization
iCloud Documents for supported attachment synchronization
Face ID, Touch ID, and device authentication
Apple's system photo picker
Apple's system email functionality
Apple's file sharing and document-handling interfaces
Trading Journal does not include third-party advertising, tracking, attribution, product-analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.
Your use of Apple services is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and privacy practices.
Children's Privacy
Trading Journal is a financial recordkeeping and trading-journal application and is not specifically directed toward children.
The developer does not knowingly use Trading Journal to collect personal information from children for advertising, tracking, or profiling.
Security
Trading Journal is designed to minimize unnecessary transmission of information by storing journal data locally by default and making iCloud synchronization optional.
Optional App Lock functionality can provide an additional layer of protection using your device's authentication system.
However, no electronic storage, device, backup, or synchronization system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, Apple account, backup files, exported files, and other copies of your journal information.
Financial and Tax Disclaimer
Trading Journal is intended for personal recordkeeping, organization, and analytical purposes.
Calculations provided by the app—including profit and loss, options net premium, performance statistics, account analytics, and estimated capital gains tax—are informational estimates.
Trading Journal does not provide financial, investment, brokerage, accounting, legal, or tax advice.
The app does not replace official brokerage statements, tax documents, or professional financial or tax advice.
Users are responsible for verifying their records and calculations before relying on them for investment, accounting, financial, or tax purposes.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if Trading Journal's features, data-handling practices, or legal requirements change.
When material changes are made, the effective date at the top of this Privacy Policy will be updated.
Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
