The STEM Student Employment Program is a paid internship run by the U.S. Navy. It lets college students in science, technology, engineering, and math work as federal civilian employees at Navy research and engineering commands while they finish their degrees. Students can work part-time during the school year with flexible schedules, and they get hands-on experience in their field. Some students also receive tuition and book assistance, and the program offers a path to full-time employment with the Navy after graduation. Through SSEP, I have worked at NAWCAD WOLF in St. Inigoes, MD, first in the Special Communications Mission Solutions Division and now in the Ship & Air Integrated Warfare Division.
