EcoCredit
The EcoCredit system provides a practical and effective framework for instilling environmentally responsible behavior among students while also fostering a sense of community engagement and collective action towards sustainability goals.
Credit Card System: Each student in the school would have a credit card linked to the EcoCredit program. This card would track the credits earned by the student for recycling efforts.
Credit for Recycling: Students earn credits by disposing of trash in the school's recycling bins. For every 5 grams of trash properly disposed of, the student receives 1 credit.
Redemption of Credits: Once a student accumulates 50 credits, they can redeem them for gifts from the school koperasi (cooperative). These gifts serve as incentives for students to participate actively in recycling efforts.
Monetization of Recyclables: The school koperasi sells the collected recyclable materials to recycling centers. The proceeds from this sale are used to fund the gifts provided to students as rewards.
Funding Recycling Programs: Additionally, the revenue generated from selling recyclables is allocated towards funding school recycling programs. These programs may include initiatives to raise awareness about recycling, purchase recycling bins, or support other environmental conservation efforts within the school.
By implementing this EcoCredit system, the school not only incentivizes students to adopt sustainable behavior but also generates funds to support ongoing recycling initiatives. It's a win-win approach that promotes environmental consciousness while fostering a culture of responsibility and reward among students.
