When asked what they would tell the audience about this piece, the cast responded with some of these answers:
Love and kindness will reign over hate and anger every time.
Try to look past the shock factor and recognize a world in which we recognize all actions have consequences. Take the time to recognize the importance of kindness.
You matter.
Remember the effects of your actions, and remember that we are all human.
It's okay to feel, get mad, or cry, because that means you care.
These characters do NOT communicate. Please don't be like them in that way.
After a month of working on this play, the cast was asked what a theme of this play is:
Nobody needs to know what they're doing, and nobody should be trying to figure it out alone.
Certain actions have consequences that are irreparable, lead with love.
It's OK to not know 100% who you are - your teenage years are a time for growing and figuring it all out. You're not supposed to know.
Identity is not concrete.
It's never too late to start caring.
When asked what they learned during this process, some of the cast responded with:
It's OK to not know exactly who you are yet.
Everyone is on a different path. Let's remind ourselves to see each other. Reach out. Extend a hand even when you are in the dark. In darkness, there is always light.
In the course of the pandemic, I think I lost touch with how powerful theatre can truly be. This show reminded me of that power.
I learned that I should surround myself with love.
With a positive end goal in mind, I'm not sure there is a topic that is truly untouchable when it comes to the stage, there is a message in every detail.

We want to take a moment to thank you all for sharing this space and this time with us. This play and its stories are not ones that we have taken lightly, but we have learned so much from this process and the characters we portray.
We want to reinforce that within the darkness and complexities of life, there can be light; together, we can be that light when everything may feel so bleak.
Before we leave, take a breath, reset, and recenter. Be kind to others, and be kind to yourself. Take care of others, and take care of yourself.
