The Havanese, a bichon-type dog, is the national dog of Cuba, developed from the now extinct Blanquito de la Habana ("little white dog of Havana"). The Blanquito descended from the also now-extinct Bichón Tenerife. It is believed that the Blanquito was eventually cross-bred with other bichon types, including the poodle, to create what is now known as the Havanese. They are sometimes referred to as "Havana Silk Dogs", but this is a separate breed, which has been bred to meet the original Cuban standards. 

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, or simply "Cavalier", is a small, affectionate, and elegant toy dog breed with a rich history connected to British royalty. They are known for their loving nature, adaptability, and striking appearance 

The Affenpinscher is a small, terrier-like dog breed in the Toy Group known for its lively and affectionate nature. Their name, derived from the German words "affe" (monkey) and "pinscher" (terrier), reflects their distinctive, expressive face often compared to a monkey's or ape's, featuring dark, round eyes and a short muzzle. French breeders dubbed them the "Diablotin Moustachu," or "moustached little devil," a playful nod to their appearance and mischievousness. The breed's wiry coat, considered hypoallergenic, is typically black but can also be gray, silver, red, or combinations of these colors. 

The Border Collie is a medium-sized herding dog originating from the Anglo-Scottish border region. They are renowned for their exceptional intelligence, athleticism, and strong herding instincts. Often described as "workaholics," Border Collies thrive when they have a job to do, whether it's herding livestock or excelling in various dog sports like agility, obedience, and flyball. 

The Great Dane, also known as the "Apollo of dogs", is a German dog breed renowned for its impressive size, elegance, and gentle nature. Despite its intimidating appearance, this breed is known for being affectionate, patient, and good-natured, making it a popular choice for families and a true "gentle giant". 

The Afghan Hound, a sighthound breed, is known for its elegant appearance, long silky coat, and distinctive personality. Originating in the mountainous regions of Afghanistan, these ancient dogs were developed by nomadic tribes primarily for hunting. They are also known as Tāzī or Sage Baluchi.  

The American Eskimo Dog, often called "Eskie," is a small to medium-sized Spitz breed recognized for its white coat, intelligence, and playful nature. 

The Alaskan Malamute is a powerful and ancient sled dog breed that originated with the Mahlemut people of Arctic Alaska. They were bred for endurance and strength to haul heavy freight in extremely harsh, cold conditions, rather than for speed.  

The Labradoodle is a popular hybrid dog breed resulting from a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. They were originally developed in Australia in the late 1980s by Wally Conron of the Royal Guide Dog Association of Australia. Conron aimed to create a guide dog with the temperament of a Labrador and the low-shedding coat of a Poodle, suitable for people with dog allergies. The resulting pups were a success, with one named Sultan becoming the world's first Labradoodle guide dog. 

The English Cocker Spaniel (ECS) is a medium-sized sporting dog known for its cheerful disposition, eagerness to please, and striking good looks. They are members of the Sporting group of dogs, bred originally to assist hunters by flushing out game birds like woodcock from dense underbrush.

The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is a robust and ancient breed originating in Turkey (Anatolia), where they served primarily as livestock guardian dogs. Known for their strength, agility, and loyalty, these intelligent dogs are gaining popularity beyond their working heritage and becoming valued family companions.  

The French Bulldog, affectionately known as the "Frenchie," is a popular small dog breed known for its distinctive "bat ears", wrinkled face, and charming, clownish personality. They are affectionate, loyal, playful, and adapt well to various living situations, including apartments, making them a popular choice for city dwellers and families alike.  

The Bull Terrier, a breed with a distinct "egg-shaped" head and captivating triangular eyes, is a playful, endearing, and devoted companion. Originating in England during the 19th century, they were initially bred for dogfighting, later transitioning to vermin control, guarding, and herding roles, according to the American Kennel Club. However, the modern Bull Terrier is known for its friendly and affectionate nature, making it a beloved family pet.  

The Schnoodle is a hybrid dog breed that combines the characteristics of a Schnauzer and a Poodle. These "designer dogs" first appeared in the 1980s with the goal of creating a low-shedding, family-friendly dog. 

The Chiweenie, also known as the Choxie, Weeniehuahua, or even the "Mexican Hot Dog", is a popular designer dog breed resulting from a cross between a Chihuahua and a Dachshund. These small dogs are known for their energetic, loyal, and affectionate personalities, making them great companions for the right individuals or families. 

The Cavachon is a designer dog breed, a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Bichon Frise. It was first bred in the United States in the late 1990s with the goal of combining the best traits of both parent breeds. 

The Cockapoo is a popular hybrid dog breed, resulting from a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle. This playful and affectionate breed has garnered widespread popularity for its intelligence, gentle nature, and potentially low-shedding coat, making them appealing to various households, including those with allergy sufferers. 

The Labrador Retriever, often called a Lab, is a medium-to-large breed known for its friendly demeanor, high energy, and intelligence. They consistently rank as one of the most popular breeds globally, especially in countries like the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. 

The Saint Bernard is a breed of very large working dog that originated in the Western Alps of Italy and Switzerland. They are famously known for their rescue work at the Great St. Bernard Pass, where monks trained these dogs to save travelers caught in avalanches and harsh conditions. While their traditional role has largely been replaced by modern technology, Saint Bernards continue to be cherished for their unwavering loyalty, gentle temperament, and affectionate nature, making them wonderful family companions. 

The Dorgi is a mixed breed dog resulting from a cross between a Dachshund and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Although not officially recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) as a distinct breed, Dorgis inherit traits from both their parent breeds, making them unique and popular companions. Their origins are somewhat debated, but the most well-known story involves Queen Elizabeth II and her corgis, with Princess Margaret's Dachshund, Pipkin, mating with one of the Queen's Corgis.
