Once Ravana decided he wanted to get revenge on the Doctor and have Sita, he came up with a plan. First, Ravana thought, "I must go spy on Rama, Sita, and the Doctor to see what they are like so I can think of a plan to get everything I want."
Once he found the trio, Ravana watched them closely. Ravana determined the best course of action was to defeat Rama and the Doctor and then he would be able to win Sita and her love. Of course, Ravana decided he must attack the Doctor first since he has the magical screwdriver. Then, he would go after Rama with the magical screwdriver. His plan seemed foolproof. Ravana also had his demon army behind him as well, so he didn't think there was any way he could lose.
He ran towards the Doctor with his demon army following him. The Doctor was unsuspecting. He was just minding his own business and meditating out by a river. As Ravana went to attack the Doctor, Rama interfered and used his bow.
Rama started hitting demon upon demon. Not one demon had touched the Doctor. Then, the Doctor pulled out his sonic screwdriver and pointed it toward a tree. This made all the fruit fall down causing demons to trip over them and become knocked out. While Rama was letting his arrows fly, the Doctor watched him closely to see if there were any indications he could be a Time Lord.
The Doctor continued to watch Rama but he couldn't find any evidence that Rama was anything other than an incredible warrior. The Doctor was still perplexed because Rama was unlike anyone he had ever seen.
The fight went on. Rama hit demon after demon and Ravana escaped every arrow that Rama shot. Finally, when Ravana looked back to see how many of his demon army were left, Rama struck him in the shoulder.
Ravana retreated back to where he came from. His demon army was almost all dead and he was seriously injured. However, Ravana was not one to give up so easily. He decided the only way to capture Sita was to get her away from the both Rama and the Doctor. To do this he enlisted the help of his uncle, Maricha.
Now after Ravana retreated, Rama and the Doctor tried to figure out what happened.
"Rama, could that have been Ravana, Kamavalli's brother?" said the Doctor.
Rama replied, "I believe that most certainly was Ravana, but what I don't understand is why he would attack us. Maybe because Kamavalli was with us for a little while, but that still doesn't make sense."
"Well, Rama, there is something I need to tell you. I overheard Kamavalli talking about how she wanted to get Sita out of the way so she could have you all to herself, and I couldn't let that happen so I may have tried talking sense into her and then forcing her to leave. I'm sorry, but I didn't want to worry you or Sita."
"Doctor, why would you not tell me this? We could have warned you that Ravana might attack so we could have been prepared. We won, so that is all that matters, but I wish you would have told me. Now we need to be on the lookout in case Ravana strikes again," said Rama.
The Doctor apologetically told Rama, "I am so sorry for lying to you. I just thought it would be best for everyone. I now understand how serious Kamavalli was. If there is anything I can do to help you or Sita please let me know. Also, please know how sorry I am. I would never intentionally do anything to hurt either you or Sita."
Rama looked at the Doctor with concern and said, "Doctor, you have done a great deal for both myself and Sita. We are eternally grateful that you appeared to us out of the blue one day."
Rama and the Doctor walked off together to go tell Sita that everything was OK.
Back to Ravana, he decided that his uncle Maricha should disguise himself as a golden deer. Ravana believed this would be good way to separate Sita from the Doctor and Rama. Now Kamavalli is also with them and she insisted on going with them to capture Sita.
The Doctor, Rama, and Sita were all together when they saw the golden deer. This deer captivated Sita, for it was the most beautiful animal she had ever seen. She pleaded with Rama to go get the deer for her before it ran off and they never see it again.
Rama and the Doctor exchanged concerned glances, but Rama finally decided to go get the deer for his beloved.
As soon as Rama shot the deer, Maricha cried out, but he sounded like Rama not himself.
Off in the distance, Sita hears who she believed to be Rama cry out in pain. Distraught, Sita turned toward the Doctor ready to go run after Rama and exclaims, "Doctor, Rama is hurt. I must go after him!" To which the Doctor replied, "Sita, don't go. This could be another trap. Wait here. I can go after Rama and I'll bring him back. Everything is going to be just fine. Don't wander off and don't talk to anyone strange."
While Sita is alone, Ravana approached Sita. He comes off disguised as a beggar, in hopes that Sita will take pity on him. Ravana asked, "Excuse me, but are you alright? I can tell you are very upset. What can anyone so beautiful have to be upset about?"
Sita hated to be alone in situations like these, especially when worried that her husband was hurt. She curtly responded, "I am quite alright, thank you. My husband is off getting a deer for us and he will return very soon. Please leave now."
Ravana refused. Sita now angry, "Leave now. I do not want to ask again."
Ravana is livid. How could anyone refuse him?! He decided to take her by force and picked Sita up and took her away.
When the Doctor finally found Rama is when they heard Sita screaming. Rama and the Doctor ran to see what happened but as soon as they got there Sita is gone. The only person that remained is Kamavalli, who just stands there laughing.
Now Rama is the one who was distraught. The Doctor tried to comfort him, "Rama, I promised Sita that everything would be okay and I intend to keep that promise. Let's go get in my TARDIS and we will find her and Ravana."
Rama agreed and they both went into the TARDIS and it vanished off to where Ravana's lair is rumored to be hidden.

Author's Note:
In the original story, Rama still defeats Ravana's demon army. Ravana enlists Maricha to help him with his evil plan in capturing Sita. Maricha disguises himself as a golden deer to get Sita alone. In the story Sita begs Lakshmana to go after Rama. This is when she is abducted by Ravana. I decided to make the Doctor and Rama work together in order to defeat the demons as well as injure Ravana so he would have to retreat back and come up with another plan. Of course, nothing really changes. Sita still gets abducted and now Rama and the Doctor have to go rescue her. I decided to have Kamavalli still in the story so she can see how upset Rama and the Doctor are and feel as if she gets revenge. We haven't seen the last of her either. In my last story, she will return with Ravana. I also liked having Sita try and fight back when Ravana is trying to abduct her because in the original story she appears to be completely helpless and just in love with Rama. I also had the Doctor conclude that Rama is not a Time Lord. He may soon discover that he is in fact an incarnation of Vishnu or he may not. Only the finale will tell!
